Welcome to Pediatric Oasis Real Truths, also known as PORTS.

My name is Sherain Bruce and I'll be your host. This podcast is a channel of hope for parents, individuals with disabilities, educators, healthcare providers, and community allies that want to bridge the divides between systems that cause inequity within the world.

My background

I am a proud Mother of two amazing boys, one of my children has a diagnosis of Severe Autism and is minimally speaking, and I am the Co-founder and CEO of Pediatric Oasis, a community therapy practice in Virginia serving children and families in schools and homes.

Uniquely, I'm also a motivational speaker, Nationally Board Certified Occupational Therapist, Feeding Therapist, Certified Autism Specialist, and African American Female. Last but not least, I am a Servant of God and Jesus Christ, that wants to make the world a better place.

Why I created PORTS

Often in life I have noticed people don't have the opportunity to connect with others that are different from them. So I created PORTS as a solution to this issue. PORTS is a safe space to come share and tell the world your real truth. Ports can help you unload your truth and load the truths of others.

Topics will vary weekly on Saturdays, but primarily focus on Education, Wellness, Parenting Exceptional (Gifted and Special Needs) Children, Christianity, Neurodiversity, Autism, ADHD, Trauma, and Trauma Recovery.

My mission is to educate the community by interconnecting pathways of marginalized groups (individuals with disabilities and minorities) with non-marginalized groups (individuals without disabilities and majorities) and share the word of God.
