Julia Overeem is someone who is always surrounded by music, and whilst Julia is at school, she has used every opportunity to learn to perform. When she was younger, Julia had a passion to learn about the dramatic arts, but during high school, she changed course to learn more about music and all the skills it involves. Which brought her back into the musical passion that has had great importance for her family over time.

My singing career began at the mere age of 3 after seeing my dad perform in several restaurants and public venues. I am a student in high school and partake in an extracurricular choir called Gospo Collective, performing at the Adelaide Fringe and other performances all over Adelaide throughout the year."

Angela Niejalke is a multi-skilled person, a lawyer, a school chaplain and a mediator. Using her multifaceted skills, she is a trainer at an organisation called PeaceWise, which has the goal of training people with conflict resolution from a Christian perspective.

Her life experience has also contributed significantly to the reasons for her line of work today. Since childhood, Angela has lived with Juvenile Arthritis, a condition that requires a lot of patience to explain to those who don't understand the complexities disease. Challenges that have many similarities in understanding conflict and the pain that it causes.

Mrs Christine Goodfellow OAM had a humble beginning to her life, most of her younger years were spent in and around public and military housing communities. An experience that has positively and profoundly had a major influence upon her later years of life. Where she used her experience of living in public housing communities and escaping a violent relationship to help unemployed people find work, and to help the causes of partners of military veterans.

Daniel Wayman is a Salvation Army Officer stationed in Mount Barker South Australia, but he did not start there. Verity Skye has been deeply impacted by experiencing bullying at school, though now as an adult she is far from being vindictive toward her early tormentors. Now as an art teacher she uses her skills working with children to educate both bullies and bullied to find positive outcomes for both.

Matthew Carratt is a Uniting Church minister and co-host of the new RawCut show Life Bursts. Each week Matt along with co-host Sarah Freeman will be discovering the fascinating story of someone interesting and giving them the space to tell it in full.

This week, in the first part of Life Bursts introduction, Matt will tell us about how he ultimately ended up being a church minister from his somewhat nomadic childhood. We also learn about his close encounter with the wildlife of the Northern Territory of Australia.
