<itunes:subtitle>Healing through stories. "The Lockdown story." We join hands, we make up minds One connects another, as stories brew in all kinds. We write, we gather courage, and we share it with you all. Won't you join us, kind stranger, as towards our dreams we crawl? Today, I'm going to tell you a story of a Boy, About how he went through an eye-opening Journey to understand Love and went down multiple roads only to meet Dead Ends and Finally how his Efforts Illuminated a Road that was hidden in the plain Sight, all by just that one Question that a Character arose in his mind. -- Characters. How many of you read books, novels or watch movies, or now the trendy, web series? I believe each of you does and still continue doing. Has some character seemingly been relative to you, made you wonder how closely, you have similar mindsets? And the script blew your mind just due to the strikingly similar Persona that those characters delivered. Don't the images of these characters that are floating in your head right now look so, so beautiful..! As a matter of fact, they are. They are, not because of their resemblances. But because, you cared to notice them, to Peek into their intricate details. Because you involved yourselves into their stories, connected your lives with theirs. That is what makes them Beautiful. Like most of my Pals, the lockdown was a dream come true for me. The mere thoughts, on how I would be spending my Freedom in the next few days was bubbling euphoria in my heart. I certainly remember That First Morning of Lockdown. It felt like I was in Fairyland. As if I was asleep on a bed of tender sprouts, that arose as I woke up. Delicately shifting beneath me as I felt more and more comfortable and lay there, unknown and undisturbed by anything that existed beyond my world of SmartPhone. (haan ha lazy bhi bol sakte ho). I continued this on loop for a full week. Ah! What a life that was, no interference from any college work, Household Chore, or any deadlines. Wow! the nostalgia seems to be blurring my timeline as I yearn for those cozy bed days once again. But, what I called the Perfect version of life was actually a disgrace in my mother's perspective. She told me it was a 'Sloth's life' that I was adapting to. However, the happy me in my comfort zone, continued with the same Routine, ignoring the cues I should have taken. Until Finally, my Lousy life came to an end. My mother after numerous taunts gave me A Stern warning to change my habits soon and quit being a Sloth for the entire lockdown. I felt amused. And my confident state went on to announce that it wasn't the case with me. And that I wasn't as lazy as a sloth to just lay for 18 hours each day! Now my mum wasn't so easy to give in and asked me to have an estimation of what time period did I exactly Just lay down, for? And so after a few counter-arguments, as I finally agreed on what schedule I survived upon, my Cheeks went red! I was actually living a Sloth's life! Hence said, I knew I needed to make up to her by some Productive work. So the easiest way I knew, was to check on what my friends were up to. I undertook just enough things, to make an excuse for if my mum again came up and saw me do nothing. After all, isn't something better than nothing! But till when could I have saved myself from the axe by hiding behind a tree. Again after Good round of Scolding, I decided to bring studies into the Picture. Scratching all the previous activities, I engaged myself with some courses on the Coursera app. Now no one would blame a Saint like Child who studies even in the Vacation Period, I thought as I logged in on my account. "This isn't A Vacation", My Mother Shouted, frustrated from the adjacent room. I was horrified. What kind of hocus-pocus this was? I had just been put down for my thoughts, that I hadn't even whispered about to a soul! As I sat there clueless, my mum walked in on me, as I sat still trying to absorb what had just taken place. "What Are you doing?"My mum inquired, Anger glistening in her voice. I Calmly carried my agenda as planned, "Do Not Disturb me, Mumma. I am Studying. Please let me." "When will you be batheing?" Another Shock. But I knew for Success in anything, Calm nerves hold the key. I again held my Point, "Mumma, I am just so deep into this right now, that I wouldn't want to scatter my focus now. So I will take a bath, but later." I felt so great after putting my point. I almost felt a hand touch my hair when reality went booom into my ears. "From Tomorrow onwards, I want your daily chores done on time and then you may study," she said in a commanding tone. My image of mum's hand ruffling my hair with Pride and Love, fell apart. I, with a broken heart, asked her the reason for sounding so dictatorial, given my sincere efforts at studying. "You are studying which is Good. But that's not enough. You need to learn to Follow through your day like a Human. Having a neatly scheduled life, all basic chores accomplished on time, are all very important aspects of Living." I heard impatiently, my nerves tightened. "It will never be enough for you" I shouted at her. And stormed off the room. The next day, It was Mother's Day. And I being a complete fool, didn't utter a single word with her. But I soon realized how silly I was and so, as it was bedtime for her, I approached my Mother and Apologised for being so Foolish and rude. In fact, I even Promised, to be on my best life schedule, just as she wanted from thereon. I had finally decided to start agreeing upon with her. The next day, I awoke at 6:30 and done with my basic chores by 9:30 a.m., I sat in front of my laptop, working through my Coursera app. That day still infuses the Serenity I felt, by the Scheduled way of being. My days were Passing with a Positive attitude. But one day, out of the blue, My mum complained, "How erratic you are with your breakfast. You should be done by 7:30. Look at the Tapan family next door. They are always done so before us." I was Dumbstruck! How could she! After all my hard work at staying up to her Mark, she was still actually COMPLAINING about me! But this time, I kept my mouth glued. After all, it only led me to feel miserable after any arguments with her. The dialogue, "it's never enough for you"screamed to be let out, but I suppressed in deep within. It's been a couple of months now to the lockdown, But oh my lovely Mother, she still pinpoints a dozen defects I carry around with me. No, it's not just limited to mornings, but my entire schedule that she finds faults at. Though we still do have disagreements now and then, I can say with surety that the lockdown did turn the once devil me, to a saint. This one day, as I was watching The Oscar-Nominated Movie Ladybird, the Scene arrived, where Sarah Jone asks the Protagonist a question, "Isn't Love and Paying Attention The Same?" Intrigued by it, at first thought I was In utter Confusion. But as the images Progressed, The Scenes seemed to make sense. Ladybird, the character who was criticized by her mother, Marion over almost everything she did in her life was just like me, angry, devastated at times, and Confused. Why would a Mother do so with her Child? But Little did we both realize, Marion just like my own Mother, paid a lot of attention to the intricate details of our life. That was how both Mothers, the Character in the movie, and my own Mumma Expressed their Love Towards their Offsprings. Those little bits of disagreements were never meant to hurt but to Teach to love, love ourselves. I, put my Laptop aside and Introspected all my decisions as far as i could go. I looked up to my Mother's Life. How Scheduled it was, not a single holiday yet she handles her sanity so well and also keeps each of us looked after with such integrity. Realizing this was a Turning Point in my life. When someone confronts us, by questions, "Where are you going now?"Is this the time you wake up?"What Time will you return?" and of course, the one that we all must've heard as the Lockdown started and So did our erratic sleep cycles, "Oh! So you will go to Sleep now, Isn't it?" All these are to shape us into a better human. So What, Does all this stop when we turn into our Perfect selves! Can I guarantee that! Perfect. Perfect is an overrated word. Even when I would become what I feel is my best, I can assure you, the Positive Criticism from my mom shall never stop. And it is needed. Someone who keeps pushing you to not just lay steady, but continuously strive and keep moving in the Currents of River called Life. Without Attention, you cannot care and where care exists, there's bound to be Love. These are Inseparable links that form a chain. A chain that needs Consistency, to stay connected. Today, I ask each of you, To notice around you. Is there someone who irritates You, by continuous review for anything and everything. Always asks you Nah, Rather Pushes you to change For better or Regret it forever. Someone who keeps Philosophizing Life to you that you find so boring, that you simply ignore their efforts. This is the day you Thank them. Not just for now, But for all those times that they have looked for you, behind your backs. Watch movies with them, Read Books, Share Experiences, Happy or Sad, Feeling Low or Excited. Just Go and put your Heart besides theirs. I strongly urge you to Spend Time with such Beautiful Souls that surround you. Because, They Too Deserve The Beautiful You, In Return. -- Before you go, please let us know in the comments section, what kind of stories would you like to listen on our platform? <itunes:subtitle>Healing through stories, the lockdown story. We join hands we make up minds one connects another as stories brew in all kinds. We write we gather courage and we share it with you all. Won't you join us kind stranger as towards our dreams we crawl? Hello kind stranger! How have you been? Thanks for joining us today. Today I am going to tell you a story of a boy who despite being in the same unknown waters of lockdown as each of us are, managed to pull through without a tad of disappointment. Unaware of how far the shore is he kept himself intrigued among the world of art and knowledge by the Greats of those fields. Lockdown! What was the first impression it had when you heard of its implementation? Did you freak out? Were you sad? Happy? Excited? or Anxious? You all must have had your legit reasons for feeling so. Didn't all of us for once at least feel this lockdown to get done with but still we grew out and are still growing through it. Ain't we? For me the COVID-19 wasn't actually the reason for being at home. It was already vacation time for me. The lockdown only extended the duration further. Residing in India's cleanest city Indore for my studies, I missed my home quite a lot during long stays until I was finally done with my exams in March. With vigor of freedom running through me, I returned back home on March 17th among the same old mountains, lakes and greenery awaiting me. My birthplace Nowrozabad in Umaria, a little town situated in the heart of India, Madhya Pradesh is the perfect definition of a peaceful abode. It has always attracted me to stay for long despite the materialistic shining any city offers. With pollution level quite insignificant to that of cities, my hometown will always be in my heart as lifelong residing destinations. Inhaling directly from the green cover fills my heart with deep satisfaction that I yearned for, in the past six months. The hectic lifestyle that city offers traffic, noisy surroundings are something that doesn't excite me. A delightful day followed on my return as I gathered with my longtime friends, loitered around, laughing sharing our experiences, teasing each other. Although it seemed like the day when everything was perfectly aligned and then it happened. Out of nowhere the lockdown was announced, shops, offices shut any working Institute closed down, sports, movies everything that we loved was officially sealed and us, we had to lay shut in our homes to save ourselves and humanity from the fatal unknown COVID-19. Though the lockdown has been quite a cause of distress amongst people losing sanity, getting frustrated, boredom, feeling of being alone are quite understandable. However what kept me going through, it was all my curiosity. I have always had this hunger for knowledge in me and to try out diverse things, dive in and learn something fresh out of them and the Lockdown provided me a perfect opportunity with ample of time in my hands. Books. The best leisure time one can have is with books. Treasure house to experiences and a best friend that inspires to achieve more. Books also teaches to stand up from failures. The book enthusiast in me regretting, not carrying all of the books back from Indore. Alas! Had I known I would be locked up for the next few months in my house? I have always relied on books to take me back to imaginary worlds and destinations while physically being at the very same place. Regardless, I still had quite a few of them waiting to be read at home. Besides, I did bring some half of a sudden books with me that I had recently bought from Indore and fortunately not read yet. Always having affinity towards outdoor sports such as Cricket, Kabaddi, Badminton. The Lockdown was like waters to my fire like desire. However, being in the green zone, far from the worst affected areas, the condition here changed for better, quite soon, given the social distancing norms were followed strictly. Even though the regulations eased off, my schedule has still remained steady as the days now seem too short to cope up with the innumerable interest I have developed. The chilly breeze with classical music in the background alongside the sound of birds chirping made my morning seem shorter. With me comfortably hooked to a book in a chair and the melodious Ghazals and Shayaris from the sixties and seventies. Humming to the voices of artists like Piyush Mishra, Ali Sethi, I have got mornings that I would never exchange for any treasure. Getting up at 5:00, I and few of my friends have developed the habit of playing cricket for a few hours replacing it some days with chess. Further, I have even taken to being actively aware of climate changes and consequences and have turned to a climate activist, Herein. Astronomy has always intrigued me, while I also follow politics closely to some depth The books that were left unread were divered by me within two months of lockdown as I ordered two more in the month of May, the Dark Horse and India after Gandhi are brewing the values in my heart as of now. A fascinating thing that I discovered playing an active role in shaping my life and character has been watching documentaries, based on real-life incidents. They provide an in-depth account of ground reality checks about the society we live in.The people around us and their way of living, the decision and their consequences. Some people do find these documentaries too harsh but I believe it's about what we learn out of it and how we indulge it into our lives. This lockdown has taught me so much about life that I do think of this as the night which might look dark but has moon and the stars twinkling all above us. Only if we tend to look in that direction. We all have interests hidden, undiscovered, unidentified, lying within us. To see through the negativity that blocks our inside view, find that ray of hope and expand your vision through the illumination of positivity. The light always stays, it might be too dim but with the spark in us to find that sparkle even the fading can turn luminous and glow it, it's brighter. Before you leave, please let us know in the comments section, what kind of stories would you like to listen on our platform. Also, if you like our content subscribe and follow us to get updates on the upcoming episodes. In the next episode. We will tell you a story of a boy about how he went through an eye-opening journey to understand love and went down multiple roads only to meet dead ends and how his efforts finally illuminated a road. To be continued on Monday. Till then, see you. Take care. Dividing us mercilessly, Creeping in steadily. Corona is here, Corona is there. Beware! Because it seems to be everywhere. We can't go out, we may be stuck in a rut, we may feel trapped and we may be shut, but like sunshine that seeps through the cracks in concrete, our voices will find a way, our voices will find a way. <itunes:subtitle>Healing through stories. "The Lockdown story." We join hands, we make up minds One connects another, as stories brew in all kinds. We write, we gather courage, and we share it with you all. Won't you join us, kind stranger, as towards our dreams we crawl? Hello Kind stranger, how have you been? Today, I'm going to tell you a story of a human, who loved a dog with all her heart. And about the dog, who loved her back even more. Love comes in all forms, shapes and sizes. Sometimes, it comes in the form of a busy mother handing you the Tiffin before you leave for work. Sometimes, it's the father who is so busy buying gifts for his family, that he forgets to buy something for himself too. Sometimes, it's the teacher who comes to console you after a good round of scolding. Love also comes in the form of trees, plants, water and this earth around, all of which sustain you, no matter what. It was the sixth day of my college. I had made some acquaintances, explored the snacks from canteen and memorized the ways to classrooms, but I was yet to get comfortable. That was when I met her. I would be honest here. She wasn't furry, she didn't have those big, round puppy eyes, she was probably undernourished. So much that her bones showed, covered only by thin, dark brown skin which was smeared with dirt. She lived in the campus. She roamed in the corridors, scavenging for whatever food she could get. She wasn't exactly attractive, but then what is love if it's not illogical? In search of a company, I went to her once. She sat all alone by a bench. Daisy! I called for her. I don't know how and why I called her with that very name, it just came out of nowhere. To my surprise, she responded. I caressed her head as she stood right up, looking at me. You seem hungry, I said to her. I got up to get her a pack of milk. She followed me. She followed me. In the campus, in corridors, to my stationery shop visits, to the tea stall by the college..she started to come with me everywhere. She even used to come in classrooms in the middle of my lecture. Everyone knew she used to come looking for me. They had started calling me dog mom. I may have pretended to get annoyed by the title, but deep down, I was so flattered. Knowing that I mean the world to someone made me very happy. She used to understand when I was low. She would jump in my lap and brush her head against me. It was her way of saying it'll be okay. World's best companion. Hobbes to my Calvin. Veeru to my Jay. Piri piri to my french fries and Parle-g to my chai. She used to wait for me at the gates everyday. Before the lectures started, I used to feed her milk. Watching her gulp it down with all the happiness in the world...it made my heart melt. She had given me something that I never thought I deserved — unconditional love. She made me realize that if there's anyone I can love more than my family, it's dogs. Three years flew by, and our friendship grew. I did make friends later, but no-one took her place. How could they? We, as humans are incapable of loving as purely as dogs. Time flew by. My college days were coming to an end. One day, lockdown happened. We were shut in our homes, and I was glad we had got a break from college. But I was worried for her. She'd been okay... Even during the devastating floods in the city last year, I consoled myself. She'd survive this too. Days passed. Once the rules were a bit relaxed, I made my way to college with a pack of milk. I'd see her today after so many days! My daisy. I had missed her so much. I reached the campus and strolled around. But i couldn't find her anywhere. She has a habit of wandering around, I told myself. but somehow, my heart wasn't convinced. I had to see her. I found the watch-man and ran to him. I asked him about Daisy. "That brown dog who used to follow you all the time?" Yes, I nod frantically. Please tell me where she is? He looked at me, and then he looked away. He said, I'm sorry, I mean please sit down. It's very unfortunate, but she had an accident here on this road and....." I went numb. I didn't want to listen further, but I needed to know. He gave me a glass of water and asked me to calm down. It happened in a split second, my child, he said. She died right there. At least she didn't suffer for long? He looked at with pity. The consoling words hit my ears, and went back their way into the thin air. I couldn't take in anything. It was as if the time flew forwards, but I was stuck. I couldn't move. Daisy, my little girl. I couldn't even hug you. Who knew I was seeing you for the last time? It's been a month since that. I miss her everyday. She may not be around me, but she'll always be in my dreams. My thoughts. My memories and my heart. I cannot recall my college days without thinking about her. My college ended, and so did my friendship with her. Wherever she is now, I hope she is well. Love comes in all forms, shapes and sizes. Sometimes, it comes in the form of longing. Longing for something you can't get in this lifetime. Sometimes, love means keeping them alive in your heart so that whenever you wish, you can open that box of memories and live them again. If my love for Daisy comes in the form of longing, then I'd embrace it with an open heart. Because I love her. My daisy. Piri piri to my french fries, and Parle-g to my chai.
