I know what you’re thinking, ‘Remso, this sounds like you’re saying goodbye…”

No.

Much like all our favorite series, one era ends so another can begin. In our case, we’re not going to end and come back with an episode one.

Instead, we're going to be like Valiant Entertainment, and just go on a long break.

Unlike Valiant Entertainment though, we won’t be gone too long. We’ll be pausing Second Print Comics for the remainder of the year, which is really just a few months, and will announce our return date to our regular scheduled programming in 2023.

Marc and I have loved getting to give you all a look into our personal lives. Through pandemics and job losses, deaths and marriages, epic highs and deep lows, Me moving to an igloo in Wisconsin and Marc moving to hurricane heaven Florida, you’ve become an extended part of our fandom family.

You all make doing this show so much fun, and I hope we’ve brought as much joy into your lives as you’ve brought into ours.

However, some stuff has been going on behind the scenes in both our lives. Marc and I have been pulled to deal with some pretty scary things in our individual lives and finding time to get together to make content hasn’t been easy.

We always want to deliver you all the highest quality content, and the truth is right now we can’t deliver that until we both have the space to sort out things that are important to ourselves and our families.

There are no issues between Marc and I, throughout all the crazy shit going on, he has remained my steadfast friend, and I hope he’d say the same about me.

Sometimes life throws you curveballs, and right now Marc and I need to settle our individual quests before we can team up to deliver you epic crossover-worthy plots, news, and stories.

Marc and I want nothing more than to get behind our mics and talk comics with you all, but in order to do that, we first have to slay some dragons.

While we won’t be putting shows out on the regular feed for a few months, we’re each going to find the time to catch up with our Patreon exclusive series such as Remso vs the DCEU and Marc’s Case of the Runs.

We’ll try and schedule our monthly Journey into Mystery calls and continue to send out books. If you’re a patron and feel it’d be better to pause your patronage, we totally get it.

If you’re a current patron, you’ll be happy to continue getting regular content from Marc, myself, and our cast of friends.

If you haven’t become a patron before and you love SPC, now might be the best time to see our epic backlog of archived content and more, this way you’ll have your SPC fill until we return to our weekly full shows.

SPC 052: Nick Fury's Original Sin

Has it been a year already?! Apparently it has, as SPC hits it's 52nd episode, and we circle back to one of the first characters we looked at way back in episode #2 - one Nicholas J. Fury. In 2014 good old "David Hasselhoff Nick Fury" had been shunted to the side in the Marvel continuity for his younger, blacker counterpart, "Samuel Jackson Nick Fury", but Marvel wasn't quite done with the character just yet. But he does have thoughts on the premier episode of Loki on Disney Plus! We look at this new redemption arc for this Variant version of Loki who- instead of living out his life until his death by Thanos in "Infinity War" - instead zaps away with the Tesseract during the Avengers intervention in the timeline as seen in Avengers: Endgame. This version of Loki has come afoul of the Time Variance Authority, but it saved from a "Reset" by Agent Mobius, who takes Loki down a This Is Your Life style journey through his life as it played at in the main timeline had he not taken off with the Tesseract, before recruiting him to take out a murderous Variant - who is apparently another version of Loki.

SPC 033: Mars Attacks the Justice League!

The Justice League has long been DC's premier superhero team, but it wasn't always a team full of DC's best and brightest. By the mid-1990's, the Justice League and been largely reduced to a string of B and C-list heroes. But in 1997 DC Comics looked to change all of that by bringing in legendary writer Grant Morrison to revitalize and relaunch the Justice League in the form of the new "JLA" ongoing series along with artist Howard Porter. As the world anticipates the release of the #SnyderCut, Marc and Remso look back upon the first story in this run, as the JLA faces a mysterious group of "heroes" who have come to "fix" the Earth. SPC 009: Batman's Broken Back

In this week's Second Print Comics Podcast, Marc guides Remso down memory lane through the storyline that made him a life long Batman fan - Batman: Knightfall! This storyline presented the Dark Knight's greatest challenge by introducing the villain Bane, who would go on to terrorize Batman by releasing his entire rogues gallery from Arkham Asylum! This lead to the Batman being worn down through a series of battles before finally succumbing to Bane, who breaks Batman's back and takes him out of commission for over a year! Along the way, we get to meet A through D level villains including Joker, Scarecrow, Riddler, Killer Croc, Film Freak, Firefly, The Cavalier, Cornelius Stirk, Amygdala, and more along the way to the final, historic beating from Bane. Along the way, Marc manages to make several pro wrestling analogies, ultimately comparing Batman vs. Bane to Brock Lesnar vs. John Cena!
