Truett and Seminary Graduate and former Resident Chaplain at Baylor University. She is also a recent graduate from Dallas Theological Seminary where she served as president of the Women Student Fellowship and received a degree in biblical counseling.

A native of Indianapolis, Indiana, Monica received her bachelor’s in business with a concentration in Computer Information Systems and International Studies from Indiana University. She later relocated to Houston, TX where she began working at ExxonMobil. Monica has worked in the healthcare, energy, and oil and gas industries during her 15-year corporate career as a project manager. It was in Houston that Monica met and married her best friend and ministry partner, Todd Stephenson. Monica and Todd have a beautiful 3-year-old daughter named Amara and they reside in Dallas, TX.

Monica believes that the word of God rightly applied can be healing and restorative. She hopes to be an instrument used by God to bring wellness to others through the integration of psychology and biblical principles.

When Paul the Apostle was using the experience of the children of Israel in the Old Testament to urge the Corinthian church to pursue godliness he said, “Now all these things happened to them (Israelites) as examples, and they were written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the ages have come” (1 Cor 10:13). Paul used the story of the Israelites as a basis for his admonishment because he believed that, as a people chosen and called to be the light of the world, Christians could draw from Israel’s failures and experiences to bear faithful witness to God’s reign on earth. It has been about two thousand years since Paul wrote his letter and his story and that of the New Testament characters are now contained in the Christian Scripture (the Bible) to help Christians glean lessons from believers' journey with God in the past. In this season’s podcast, Ebenezer seeks to create "conversation scenarios" with some of the characters in the Bible to help his audience appreciate their story better and exhort them on faithful Christian witness.
