When that dream didn’t come true, she faced disappointment early in life. Yet instead of giving up, she made a bold decision: she would still become a “doctor,” no matter the path.</p><p><br></p><p>Although her parents had hoped she would not follow in her father’s footsteps, life led her into the teaching profession. But Dr. Mercy refused to settle. Faced with numerous challenges, she chose growth.
