Lizzie properly introduces herself to Gabriella, finally, only to have their conversation interrupted by a hulking monstrosity. This nightmare sends them fleeing from the air raid shelter into a burning London.

They receive a message from Father Blackwell with tickets to leave, along with some other things that don’t make sense. Then the mice lead everyone back to Gabriella’s apartment, barely missing some German soldiers wandering the streets.

Some truth comes to light about the mice.

A high-ranking member of the Green Wheel party pays a visit to Decard in the hospital, and the rest of the group in the hotel. He introduces himself as the mayor of Oxford, provides them with a decadent meal, and asks them questions about what happened last night. Both conversations leave the investigators on edge.

Gabriella catches a strange man bugging her car while on their way to check on Decard. Blackwell is there to meet them and he reveals that the hospital room has been bugged as well, by a Nazi.

Responding to the sound of Katie screaming, the investigators face down a mushroom-covered zombie dog fresh from their nightmares. Decard is grievously injured and they find Katie near dead (until she is resurrected by the demon dog). Once the creature is dealt with, Decard goes to the hospital while Gabriella, Victoria, and Katie are taken to the police stations to answer some questions. Gabriella’s interrogation is interrupted by none other than Father Blackwell, who offers her a chance to return to her normal life.

Decard makes a deal with someone who can make his problem go away, but only if he agrees to work for her.

Gabriella is offered a job evaluating a man claiming to be responsible for a string of disappearances. Then she discovers that her friend, Father Blackwell, has disappeared as well.

Victoria enjoys some time out on the town, as well as some reading into the meanings of dreams and their connections to momentous events.

The next day, Victoria and Decard have an awkward reunion(?) in the library and Gabriella goes to visit her new patient.

The investigators wake up Friday, September 1st after a series of disturbing dreams, and go on about their days. During that day, each one finds they were left something in the will of a stranger.

Victoria is gifted books that have become part of the Oxford special collections. Gabriella is gifted with enough money to pay off her debts. She also has a few meetings that hint at others knowing what she experienced.

Decard is gifted with a collection of journals chronicling a man's study of the occult. Studying one of the journals causes him to dig too deep and unleash something terrible inside of him.
