Snow, Wilson, and Selena make their way from the Outskirts back into the main city and attempt to meet up with the rest of the party. Alias, Daniel, and SOW search the archives for some of Alias' missing items but meet a suspicious figure. Now, the party feels overwhelmed and want to get away. They need...a distraction! But SOW has to figure that out. After being separated from the party by a sudden blizzard, SOW finds himself in a hospital on a bed. Next to him, a note regarding surgery! What happened? Meanwhile, the party ventures into the mountain pass and meet with the miners inside.

Thankfully, Amali prepared the group to begin the wet part of their adventure. Now the strangers have returned to the Forest alongside Finavir and Amali. Their quest: obtain the venom of a Touda by any means necessary. But the finding the Touda is only half the journey. Surviving their days in the Forest is the other.

Dear Diary,

We've been tracking these strange visitors in our village at the request of Mayor Vasille. After attending last night's town gather, they seem to be acting normal. Nothing strange has happened so far. Two of the girls had to go use the "ladies room" and the rest of the party...I think they're still inside. Now there's just Ashe, the blue man with gills, playing his large lute. I think it's a lute...it doesn't look exactly like one, but it's has a similar appearance. I guess that would be the strangest thing that I've seen.

The party returned to the Flayin Slayer's to celebrate their initiation into the Seekers Guild with Cici and Amali, which coincidentally allowed them to meet up with the other Seekers in town. The discussion with Callus and Asha raised some important points for the party to consider: should they pursue the rumored Far Traveler or stick around to learn what they can in Ashpi? Callus invited the party to travel with them, much to Amali's annoyance and Cici's dismay. Now Cici is upset and has run out of the tavern.

Receiving $10,000 for a ten night sleep study seems too good to be true. And after waking up in an unfamiliar world, several strangers realize they might not get that money after all. Surviving in this foreign landscape will require their cunning, skills, and a lot of luck.

Our party only seems to close their eyes for a brief moment before waking up in an unfamiliar place. "It's pretty dark. Who turned out the lights?! And what is that sound?" Are all the burning questions of the day. Now, they must figure out where they are and how they can get out of wherever "here" is.

We slave away all day and night...and then when it's all finished, we still have to write this stupid description and the titles. Don't even get me started on the titles. But I digress.

The party, now after being fisted by wood of the hard oak variety, is looking for a brief respite amongst the trees(?) Somebody better tell them the irony behind that. To answer your questions, yes we wrote this late at night. No herbivores plants are not necessarily carnivorous. And yes, there's plenty of hard wood to go around, Zana. Stop asking. The moment the words "link start" were uttered, thousands of players were whisked away into the digital world of Sword Art Online. Follow the beginning of our AOD adventure (that's pronounced "odd") with Snow as she took her first steps in the Town of Beginnings. This episode covers almost everything that happened before episode 1.

Sword Art Online: AOD is an actual play podcast that follows the story of the "Antithesis of Darkness" guild on their journey to simply survive being trapped inside of the SAO world. While our game shares a few elements of SAO we took some twists along the way to tell a different story with a wholly unique cast of characters. This ain't your mommas' Sword Art Online. Now put on your nerve gear and prepare to shout "link start!"

Notice: Episode 0 misses some details from before we recorded, but many are minor and can be inferred from context clues in the later episodes. Episodes 1-5 have poor audio quality that we are working to restore, but they may not be recoverable. As such, we have elected to recap those episodes so you can get started with episode 6 to follow Snow and the creation of AOD. Episode 12 is the first episode where the current player party is introduced and therefore we recommend 11 as a starting point if you do not want to listen to a solo-player campaign.
