Just as the legendary tradition of March Madness hits the hoops scene, Wrestle Update is throwing their hat in the fold. We have a 64 man tournament to determine the true champion of North American wrestling, the true MVP right now. So buckle up and follow along as we end up both having to unanimously agree and how do we do that? Our tiebreakers come from Nello calling his tried and true wrestle friends live on air, including his own brother and regular WU mentioner Wendy, while Dylan turns to the only ones he can trust: All of South Korea. It is an unhinged experiment started by a bracket that was in fact completely randomized by Nello. No selection committee here! Hopefully you can enjoy or at least follow along with the chaos!

Episode 70: The International Visa Crisis AKA TNA's New Era

There were a lot of issues to say the least, somehow always coming down to Santino having another segment. Booking blunders, bad wrestling, celebrities nobody knows or has heard of in an empty section, random debuts, S.U.A.T!? Broom closets and bad production values and of course time running out before they could even pull of their main event angle, TNA is back on cable and in full peak TNA fashion like the good old Russo days. Dylan unbelievably got Nello to watch it and we were all left flabbergasted. It was even worse than Cagematch warned us, and we go through the entire world of TNA and try to come up with a future where there's any possible hope for Total Nonstop Action.

Episode 68: AEW World's End 2025

The world might not be ending, but Dylan's sanity might be. MJF is the AEW World Champion once more. After a show ripe with booking blunders and a crowd that reacted accordingly to all but seemingly the Mixed Nuts match, we go through it all. From another correct prediction from May with Hyan getting signed, all the way to the puzzling main event build that led us to Hangman Page heading into a feud with Hook of all people. There are mixed opinions on it to say the least at least on this show. We talk about Stat as well as the booking of the Death Riders going forward after Jon Moxley's surprising C2 win. It was a show, with a match of the year candidate and a lot of controversial outcomes. But it gives a lot to talk about and that's something we appreciate!

Episode 65: AEW All Out 2025 Review

We discuss a bit of the news about WWE's WrestleMania heading to Saudi Arabia and what that could mean for The Collective and WrestleMania weekend shows potentially heading to Saudi as well in this fascinating and strange timeline we're in. We quickly get things to All Out itself, with perhaps more praise from Dylan on AEW booking and MJF period than ever before after this show, in addition to our thoughts on the matches themselves, and even a little bit about NHL '94 at the start. Going through the show to the main event we talk about the surprise title change (except to Dylan apparently) and Nello's newfound hype for Jurassic Express coming back. Someone got set on fire, and two different matches bordered on Match of the Year, it was unquestionably a fun night that was had by most.

We have talked about the past with reviewing ROH's first ever show. We have talked about the present talking about Death Before Dishonor 2025. Now. Now we take a look towards ROH's future. Or more accurately, a potential future. Dylan and Nello have their own ideas on how to break ROH off and how to gain traction and interest for the show as a whole coming off of the YouTube free show. We break it down in ways that we feel can realistically happen or at least be asked for from ROH's current owned Tony Khan. We lay out our vision for a new ROH and take a few key paths with it.

The rosters. Who would we keep, who would go, who would be mixed in from AEW, who would we call and try to bring in?

What is our idea for ROH itself that shapes the rosters we have in mind? (Both philosophies are quite different)

What do we have in mind to rebrand and remarket the ROH Weekly TV show? (These are WAY different!)

How would we build the company into a viable unit all on it's own going forward and what are some ideas for some storylines we might like to see?

We talk about it all and how the show came across from top to bottom as we covered it to the best of our abilities and also break into an Ultramantis Black appreciation segment at one point. Episode 60: AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door 2025

We talk about a show that brushed between the lines of greatness and galaxy brained all throughout, in a night built around an interpromotional showdown that happened with a questionable number of "outside" talent. Still even more questionable is the amount of kidnappings taking place in AEW recently and the amount of shenanigans in MJF's matches rolls through like a heavy thunderstorm. Nello isn't happy that Gates of Agony keep getting tv time but for the most part we're happy about the show, but we talk about the ups and downs, including a live reaction to Ibushi's heroically stupid attempt to burst through the cage with his body and his fist to no avail, while Dylan gets his first WU chance to defend and praise old Tanahashi. What a show!

Wrestle Update #58: Ring of Honor - The Era of Honor Begins (2002)

We're back and doing another historical episode, this time in preparation for the newest ROH PPV coming to us in 2025, we go back all the way to the beginning. The first ever show in ROH's history. The Era of Honor begins. We briefly go through the history of the company, the various eras from its start as an RF Video & Gabe spinoff. To the Silkin years and the DVD based product it kept, to HDNet & Sinclair, to now in the hands of Tony Khan. But then we get to the main event, the show itself. Where was AJ? What the heck were they thinking with the Christopher Street Connection? What is "Gang Type Stuff"? Where is this gym Low Ki is at? Why did Red wrestle twice? What happened to Brian XL? Why did Eddy get so little time? So many questions, and with no actual titles, there were very little answers! We disagree on the multiman match, and the last two matches pretty much save the show! Enjoy our look at ROH's humble and questionable beginnings as we look at the beginning of the era of honor!

Episode 54: ECW One Night Stand 2005 - A Retrospective

The nostalgia is strong enough not just for the show, but we get to once again revisit "Bodies" being used after the recent Anarchy in the Arena appearance, and Nello starts a one man crusade against what he calls one of the worst bands of all time: the Red Hot Chili Peppers. On top of it we talk about the ECW workers of the past, the buildup to the show on WWE TV and what led to this getting green lit in the first place, the followup and of course a full rundown of the show itself. It's been hailed among the greatest wrestling shows of all time, how does it hold up? And did we witness an example of the precursor to the "This is Awesome" chant? Episode 51: WWE Backlash 2025

We start the show off giving our memories of Sabu after his recent untimely passing, and his influence on the wrestling business to this day. We then go over the recent cuts from WWE and where we think they all could end up, and if Braun Strowman could make a good bodyguard for the elite, as well as where we would want to eat everything off the menu. Then we finally get into Backlash and their 5 match, 2.5 hour card. Things start off surprisingly great with a breakout performance for Lyra Valkyria and repeated calls for more LJ Cleary bookings. Then the show goes off a cliff, with a wide range of opinions being shared, and a shocking disagreement over how much nostalgia one of us had for the main event. Regardless, fun was had, and another Backlash is in the booms once again in our first post-WrestleMania week show!

WE MADE IT. All throughout the week, multiple shows, and more types of different wrestling covered than ever before for the WU Crew (and possibly most podcasts ever) in such a short time. But we finally made it to the big one, the last frontier for WrestleMania Week...WrestleMania itself. First off, before we even get into the shows we go about a half hour talking about the sale of AAA to WWE, a bit about AAA's history, how this sale wasn't a surprise to people in the know, and what WWE could gain from it and just why they would do this at this particular time. (We have a theory) After that we go nearly 3 HOURS just talking about the shows to combine for our longest Episode ever covering both nights of WrestleMania, how things came across, the set, the production, and of course the matches themselves and where we could be going forward. Plus, Dylan gets perhaps his last chance for awhile to bury the terrible heel Cena storyline. Finally we reminisce a bit about the week as a whole, where we're at coming out of it compared to going in, our favorite moments and our favorite matches of the entire week. It's long, it's a lot, and we're sending Mania Week out with a bang! Thanks to everyone who followed along with us!

Finally we also discuss potential Post-WM callups and where NXT is at right now in terms of its champions. They stood. But did they deliver?

Episode 48: Joey Janela's Spring Break 9

No words can possibly do justice to this show and the absolute insanity broadcast to the world, but what Nello described as "his WrestleMania" certainly came in with everything, topped off by a controversial main event that had a ton of 0 ratings and a ton of 10/10s. Who knows where the truth lies? Who knows why we watch? Who knows what's going on in the NBA right now? We try to figure out as much as we can and answer as many questions as we can, all while maintaining our status in South America due to Dylan's latest recent induction into the Dylan Fabrizio fanclub. There was a great match that contended for match of WM week, nonsensical returns and non-saves, things that knew what they wanted and a whole hell of a lot of jokes about Sabu, it was truly Joey Janela's Spring Break.

That said there was also a lot of good on the undercard and it's also worth talking about! We get into our star rating systems with Nello shockingly revealing his true influence for using the five stars scale that differs from Dave Meltzer's. We discuss the Owen Hart tournament and the state of the tag team scene, a Rocky tribute, is Kevin Knight like Dragon Kid? Chrono Trigger, Static Shock and much more!

Episode 45: AEW Revolution 2025 Review

It's time. Revolution hits us again with a stunning card that features some of the greatest and worst this incredibly chaotic company has to offer. Dylan shockingly gets turned around on a feud he declared "not for me" in the past and Nello gets a few victory laps on his visions for the future in the past working out. In what may be a first Dylan rates things higher than Nello and the inmates at the same time and we try to come to grips with the why of the main event and try to figure things out for you. (Spoiler alert nothing gets figured out and Dylan just gets big mad at Cope) It was an unbelievably bizarre and sometimes fantastic, sometimes kayfabe breaking the likes that we've never seen before Revolution from the Staples Center, the name we truly approve of for LA's greatest sports venue.

2 major shows for the big 2 companies, one nobody knew when the hell it would start, 1 we were only vaguely aware of what was going on heading into it, but a fun time was had! We start off talking about the NBA All Star game and our respective NBA teams, then we jump into Grand Slam and in addition to that we talk about all the things AEW are doing right, and the one thing they're getting very very wrong heading into Revolution. We then jump to NXT and have high praise for the women's division despite a seemingly off night with the champion and discuss main roster prospects of the likes of Trick Williams and Fatal Attraction, with praise upon praise for a woman who continues to elevate, as well as discuss the recent releases and potential landing points, with special focus on Ricky Saints and what he brings to the table.

Episode 42: The People vs. GCW

All rise! GCW has put themselves on trial and have attempted to rectify the crime against humanity that was their first show at the Hammerstein Ballroom by giving us this show. The hype level was absurd and for whatever the show was they successfully got this show into feeling like a big deal territory. Now comes the hard part: Talking about what the show actually was. From things that went sideways, things out of their control and the occasional good match or 2 on this 6 hour broadcast, we break every bit of it down and close with a passionate speech from one of it's biggest supporters about what the company is and what it means. Make your own judgments, but this week we tackle the People vs. GCW 2025.

Episode 41: The Streaming Era Begins

A new era is among us and we get into it, as we talk about the debut runs for AEW's Dynamite on MAX and Raw's debut on Netflix and the differences in approaches and how they much they made it feel like a big deal or went with a business as usual approach, and just how much filler they fit into all these hours of iconic television. Plus a shocking amount of discussion about random shows, from MAX shows to Topanga, it's all discussed here! And then. The main event. The third major streaming debut...ICW No Holds Barred!? Yes Nello got Dylan to travel to a place he fears most...the opposite side of his state of Tennessee! Chattanooga and the chains get their love as Nello's favorite promotion gets some love to start off the year in an incredibly violent, yet heartfelt show with one of Dylan's old friends doing commentary! It was truly an experience. A southern and at times even satanic experience.

Episode 40 : AEW World's End 2024

It was an insane show with high highs and low lows, with twists and turns to the point of having even a whole show's worth in the main event. But regardless of that from all the returns, we get into philosophical conversations about the modern terms of usage of kayfabe in wrestling and the appropriate handling of sensitive subjects in pro wrestling, as well as questioning the status of AEW's babyface side of things at the moment with yet another heel heavy show. Of course there are various shenanigans afoot as usual, as we close out the Continental Classic and AEW as a whole for 2024.

(One is arguably one of the best matches AEW has to offer in 2024) The second half of the show is a full review and breakdown of ROH's Final Battle. We go through the craziness early, Nigel's greatness, a disappointment in the main event AGAIN, and just try to figure out what exactly is Ring of Honor right now???

Episode 38: NXT Deadline 2024 + AEW CC Week 2

We start off with a discussion on Fire Pro after last week's hit Here Comes the Pain segment, but quickly transition to talk about the critically acclaimed New Day segment on Raw and the shocking end to the group. After that it's time for a run through NXT's Deadline and a look at the future prospects of many of the players on the WWE's 3rd brand with praise for the women's efforts in the Iron Survivor Challenge as well as the great work of Tavion Heights and Axiom in the tag titles match. From there we finally shift to the next step in our ongoing CC coverage including the appearance of the CC on Rampage for the first time and this being Mark Briscoe week in terms of quality.

The Nick Gage Invitational is one of the preeminent deathmatch tournaments of the year and Dylan & Nello are back to talk all about it. From Drake Younger losing it and trying to attack a man in the parking lot, to the emotional story told on the evening of Sawyer Wreck's retirement, to the shocking return at the end of the show (and even more shocking appearance of Deathmatch Miyu Yamashita!?). Wrestle Update 33: AEW Revolution 2024 - Thank You Sting

On the most emotional episode of WU to date, Nello returns to talk about the best AEW show, maybe one of the best shows we've ever seen. The star of the show is of course the man in the main event who retired in heroic and triumphant fashion, "The Icon" Sting! We actually have quite a few disagreements on this show, we went different ways entirely on the women's title match and the Triple Threat World Title match and are slightly apart on multiple other matches. The takes keep coming all the way until the main event and then it all comes out as we talk about the truly epic retirement match and the spectacle brought upon us by Sting & Darby Allin vs. The Young Bucks. An unforgettable show in multiple ways, we talk about the show, what could come up in the future for acts like Takeshita & Will Ospreay, and grand scheme thinking of this world of wrestling we have.

Wrestle Update #32: Elimination Chamber 2024 Live Review with Jessie

WWE comes through with Elimination Chamber which took place in Perth, Australia. And much like earlier in the month in what has become unofficially "Live Month" on Wrestle Update after both Dylan, his sister and Nello all attended shows and talked about them on the show, Dylan welcomes on a longtime wrestling fan and podcaster in the world of Japanese promotion AJPW, Talking Triple Crown's own Jessie joins after making the trip with her family to Perth and shares her perspective from the disappointment of the lack of stuff at the Super Store to the venue, the fans, the atmosphere, the vibes and the show itself! Two Elimination Chamber matches and a whole heck of a lot of fireworks for Cody Rhodes punctuated the WWE's trip down under and we discuss it all, and maybe a bit of vegemite as well.

Wrestle Update #31: Elimination Chamber 2024 Preview, Lawsuits, AEW and TNA.

Nello's away this episode so Dylan goes solo, talking about all that's been in the news recently about the lawsuit regarding various sexual crimes within Vince McMahon, the WWE and all the way back to the scandal in the 80s with the inappropriate behavior surrounding ring boys that have come out through various interviews of late in mainstream media. After this admittedly difficult but important to talk about time, we do take a shift towards updating on the various in-ring happenings in the top companies in the US. First off Dylan goes in on AEW during their week off Collision and the build to the biggest matches for Revolution as well as the pending Big Business show. From there he goes on about TNA and their latest meltdown just 1 month into their rebranding, and speaks on the cold likely realities of having a corporation own your parent company that counters with the human element of the relationships in wrestling Scott had built up over decades, as well as some talk about the Roster at large for TNA. Finally I speak on Eimination Chamber for a brief preview and predictions segment, and question some of the ways they've set this show up in Australia, but nevertheless me and Nello agree on all our predictions and we suspect most of our listeners also would as well.

Wrestle Update #30: NXT Vengeance Day LIVE Report

The unthinkable occurred, and Dylan was dragged to a wrestling show live and person. Traveling from his beloved Memphis all the way...very shortly Northward actually to Clarksville, Tennessee Dylan was gifted tickets to the first ever major wrestling show in his sister's hometown: NXT Vengeance Day as a late birthday present by his sister. And joining the show: His sister herself! Cheyenne is far from a wrestling super expert, but she has watched a lot in her childhood, tunes in every once in awhile when Kota Ibushi (or the Rainmaker) is on, and watched 2 episodes of NXT to catch up on! After a brief Power Rangers diversion and reassuring her nobody watches that much wrestling anymore anyway she gets into the vibe as apart of the WU Crew, and we talk a lot about the show, but moreso our live experiences at her first ever live wrestling show and Dylan's first as purely a fan in 25 years. The scenery, the expensive sodas, insane fans including the Ultimate Karen, cool people who acted nice and respectful and Cheyenne angrily judging Dylan's star ratings for not being high enough. It was quite a show, and an edition of WU like none before it and maybe none after it. For better or worse.

Wrestle Update #29: WWE's Insane Rumble Week

Coming off a week that was anything but amazing for the WWE, Dylan & Nello discuss the lawsuit brought forth this past week, naming Vince McMahon, John Laurinaitis and WWE all in the lawsuit as was served. We take our time with things and look at this subject and the potential consequences to these alleged actions, as well as the extremely questionable way Paul Levesque chose to answer the questions at the post show media press conference with the allegations revolving around such heinous crimes. The actions of Slim Jim, the faults of the law itself to the point where things could even be a possibility to happen.

From that point, we talk a bit about WWE & Netflix, with the news of Raw to Netflix and what the contract as well as the cable and streaming scenes heading into 5, 10, maybe 20 years.

Finally we do get to the Royal Rumble, a show that somehow packed 4 matches into 4 hours. We talk about the Rumble, and go through everything, the surprises, TNA getting spotlight in the women's Rumble, the flat attempts at comedy, some good showings for NXT talent and some fun stuff from the final four of the men and where things could go going forward.

Episode 25: AEW World's End + Circle 6 Live Report

After the vibes are good we get serious and unfortunately talk about the Chris Jericho situation over the weekend and the irresponsibility of pro wrestling reporters in how this came about and the damage in how the story was handled to the detriment of Jericho, fans and most importantly Kylie Rae, as well as the flaws of Tony Khan's handling of the questions at the Press Conference about it. We finish up talking about the show itself, and ALL that went into it, along with thoughts on where things could go from here after the dramatic reveal of the Devil and an unexpected positive outlook on everything somehow?

Wrestle Update Episode 23 : ROH Final Battle 2023 + AEW CC Semi-Finals Set

Special Wrestle Update! Rounding out our Continental Classic coverage we couldn't leave the people cold over the holidays because we got a lot to say about everything and everybody as we ended block play and get into the semis. But first over 100 minutes on ROH's Final Battle, one of the best matches of the whole year and a really strong show top to bottom, wanted to give one last bit of shine to it. Having a bona fide hoot of a time and Nello giving major props to Billie Starkz for holding up in a major main event at such a young age, as well as Athena's great title reign so far. As well, as a rundown of the post show media scrum and thoughts on everyone who said their piece. We sincerely wish everyone Happy Holidays and somehow, some way you can get free stuff!

Wrestle Update Episode 22: AEW CC Update + NXT Deadline 2023

Wrestle Update Episode 21: WWE Survivor Series 2023 - CM Punk Returns

Dylan and Nello are back, covering the WAR GAMES that took place in Chicago, for both the women and the men as well as a ho-hum card in between that lead to a show bookended with good spectacles, and then the ultimate spectacle at the end. CM Punk is back. Just month after Nello thought he was rid of him forever, he's returned and with that comes a lot of talk from a lot of places. We discuss his return, possible plans, his motivation, the reactions online as well as the Seth Rollins video that dropped online showing him furious. We then take a look at the Press Conference after the show featuring Triple H on the podium addressing multiple subjects, the potential for more shots fired between AEW & WWE, Cody being a true professional while also being a jokester, and the state of everything coming off the historic show. Finally for the last 20 minutes or so we give a spotlight to the Continental Classic, talking about the two matches for Collision as well as predictions for the next week in the tournament!

Wrestle Update Episode 17: Wrestle Update Draft

In perhaps the craziest episode of Wrestle Update yet, Nello came up with the idea for us to do a company draft and clearly it was on short notice as it led to us asking the question of if Cody Rhodes counts as a rookie and if Liv Morgan's title reign is justified. We set out our...extremely loose format to set up our rosters as us both having 5 slots available for men and women each with companies listed as:

- WWE

- AEW

- Impact

- Indies

- International

With the restrictions on picking people being:

- Only 1 Current/Former World Champion

- 1 "Rookie" wrestler who has been with their company for 2 years or less.

- 1 Tag Team pick (which can be a custom pairing)

- 1 Wild Card that can be anyone who hasn't been a Champ in their companies.

With relaxed rules for the indies and International where anyone could be in play.

Wrestle Update Episode 14: PWI 500, The Rock, WWE/UFC, AEW Grand Slam Preview

An utterly bizarre first 45 minutes to the show sees the WU crew talk about the recently released PWI500, what value the list has in this day and age, Big Dust and BEEF respect and laugh about the insane combinations of people appearing next to each other before Dylan proclaims his votes for the top 10 based on PWI's stated criteria. From there we talk about The Rock's shocking return to Smackdown, where Nello points out he too isn't above scabbing during the writer's strike, followed by talk about a potential Roman vs. Rock main event. We then talk about the WWE/UFC merger and the world we live in allowing Vince McMahon to outplay everyone and somehow end up with more power than ever, potential releases and some unhinged UFC/WWE fantasy booking and who we want to see enter the octagon as well as a pleas for Weili to enter the WWE women's division. From there we close it out with a look towards AEW, Jade Cargill's contract status and her future in WWE, then a preview of the upcoming Grand Slam show, main evented by MJF vs. Samoa Joe.

Wrestle Update Episode 11: GCW Homecoming Weekend

This special episode of Wrestle Update is a first time ever show covering GCW. Game Changer Wrestling, the top purely independent company in the USA had one of their biggest weekends in their existence so far in the wonderful state of New Jersey. Nello brings Dylan into waters not often charted by him, leading to a rather enlightening conversation about his view of deathmatch wrestling compared to Nello, a true fan and connoisseur! There is also much representation in terms of the Japanese and Lucha scenes in both deathmatch and traditional wrestling with some folks we had never heard of and some we have, some we were impressed by and some questionable decision making. A very unique episode covering GCW!

Wrestle Update Episode 10: Cash/CM Punk Drama + All In Preview

Dylan & Nello are back covering an insane week of wrestling as we head into the biggest show of AEW history, and therefore much of the episode covers that company, in and out of the ring. First off, we go through the police reports to talk about Cash Wheeler's arrest and the situation with him before and what the fallout will be with potential consequences. From there Nello gets into shoot mode on CM Punk and his interesting approaches to create a drama-free locker room. But putting away the company's backstage drama we look at the weekly shows, along with an extended preview of the All In card as announced so far. We wrap it up talking about the WWE news including Edge's future with his contract coming up, will he go to AEW? Will Dylan's dream of Edge Cage come to fruition?

Finally, Asuka had a lot to say on Twitter, we go into a bit of everything that she was talking about from back then with her beef with STARDOM and if it can be used in the future with a potential feud in the future, along with a lightning quick breakdown of Raw & Smackdown. Wrestle Update Episode 1: WWE World Heavyweight Championship Tournament, Kenny Omega vs. Jon Moxley

It's here! Episode 1 of Wrestle Update, the new show covering WWE & AEW as well as all the news of it.

Check-in for general reviews of Raw, Smackdown, & Dynamite (and maybe soon to be another show as we talk about in this episode).

Dylan Fox and Scott Edwards check in on our very first episode and start off with a brief introduction to us and our histories both as fans and what we've done before, and then we kick off with WWE, talking about this week's World Heavyweight Title tournament, as well as the continuation of the stories going down between Brock Lesnar/Cody Rhodes, The Bloodline, both women's champions setting up new challengers and how they used the new call-ups from NXT on the main roster in week 1.

After that we head to AEW, talking Wembley Stadium projections, the end of Dark, and a Dynamite that got huge props and high ratings from many with the main event cage match between Kenny Omega and Jon Moxley, talk about the women's division and some disagreements over some certain wrestlers on the roster and where they may be going.
