For too long, we’ve been trapped in the narrow thinking that kids are either “smart” or “not smart”, based on limited measures like test scores. But what if I told you that every child is already smart? It’s just a matter of figuring out <em>how</em> they are smart.</p><p>Think about the scriptures in Genesis 1:27, where it says: “So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.” It means that every child is a reflection of the divine creator. It means every one of them is already wired for wonders.</p><p><br></p>]]></description>

Power based on love is a thousand times more effective and permanent than the one derived from fear of punishment.” Mahatma Gandhi</p><p>This quote beautifully encapsulates the idea I am going to talk about in this episode. Arguably, the most important component in parenting</p><p>Have you ever asked yourself &#39;how can my kids follow my instructions without any resistance?&#39; Well I think as parents, this crosses our minds quite often. I hope to share some insights I have gathered about this. </p><p>There is a parenting concept that I learnt from the book Hold on to Your Kids written by Dr Gabor Mate and Dr. Gordon Neufeld. This is the concept of parenting power. In a nutshell this is the power that enables a parent to connect with their child, nature them, direct them and raise them up in the right way, without coercion or force.</p>]]></description>
