In diesem Gespräch zwischen Alícia und Theresa Fend, von Healthy Human Cultures, erfahren wir, wie man gesunde zwischenmenschliche Kulturen in Organisationen und im persönlichen Leben fördern kann. Es werden praktische Ansätze und mentale Modelle vorgestellt, um Stress zu managen, Feedback-Loop zu verbessern und eine resilientere Gemeinschaft zu schaffen.

Theresa ist eine Facilitatorin und Community-Weberin. Seit 2021 beschäftigt sie sich mit der Entwicklung und Erforschung einer gesunden menschlichen Kultur und wendet deren Prinzipien in Projekten an, die von Klimaaktivismus bis hin zu Mütterkreisen reichen.

Mit über einem Jahrzehnt Erfahrung in der Unterstützung von Projekten, die auf einen regenerativen Systemwandel hinarbeiten, setzt sich Theresa dafür ein, Resilienz und Zugehörigkeit zu fördern – besonders in Zeiten des Übergangs und der Komplexität. In diesem Gespräch zwischen Alícia und Nicole Korlath wird die Verbindung zwischen Yoga Nidra, Nervensystemregulation und persönlichem sowie organisationalem Wohlbefinden erforscht. In this episode of "Affectively" on The How, Alícia talks to French activist Sarah Durieux. Sarah shares her insights on activism, emphasising the importance of community organising, emotional engagement, and the need for healthy relationships within activist spaces. She critiques the dominant culture's influence on activism and advocates for a new approach that values the process of activism over mere outcomes. Sarah introduces the archipelago model of organising, which promotes decentralised collaboration among activist groups, and highlights the necessity of healing trauma within collective spaces to foster resilience and solidarity.

This episode opens up a new series, in this case, still strongly related to Affectively, but additionally "This is Political" - every now and then we are going to make more obvious links between the importance of organising and our political context.

I discuss with Sandra and Brendon about the emotional side of networks. Why are networks so emotional? What moments can they remember that were especially emotional to them? We start talking about the Fito Networks manifesto and how it grounded in emotion and we journey through their "careers" as networks weavers in different parts of the world. To me it was especially interesting to hear about how these two aspects intersect, heaviness and lightness and what strategies they use for their work to be able to stay and work in networks on the long term.

In this episode I invite back Tomomi from Emotions at Work together with her colleague Oriana LaVilla. We dive deeper and, in some occasions, more practically on what it means to wear the emotional lens at work. What questions can we ask ourselves? What practices can we engage with that will support us in practicing more emotional intelligence?

We also get some of the latest learnings on Oriana's and Tomomi's latest cohort of their programme Emotions at Work.

Talking to them feels more distanced to my usual constructivist approach, so for me it's challenging, provoking and very interesting. An invitation and a reminder that there is so much more beyond our worldview and ideals that can be extremely helpful.

We go back to the basics of hosting and self-organising by diving into “Circle Practice”. It was a treat for me to go through this sort of gentle and deep masterclass. In this episode of Affectively, Alicia interviews our very admired fellow member Tomomi Sasaki. Tomomi runs together with other colleagues a programme called Emotions at Work. As simple as that…and so challenging that we even forget that emotions are with us continuously and that they can play in our favour if we learn to be aware of them and move through them.

Tomomi talks about the coaching framework she and her colleagues base her work on and she gives me a present in the form of one of the most insightful questions I have heard in a long time: when you are working on a project, how do you want to feel? Unconsciously, I think this has been one of the strongest compasses for me in the past couple of years when doing my work, but now that I’m aware of it, I feel that I have much more agency and have gotten to the heart of one of the things I care the most about. One more reminder that it’s not only what we do, but also how we do it and how we can bring this into consciousness. Thanks Tomomi!
