In this episode, I demonstrate how I play four large drums. These particular instruments feature drum shells consisting of cardboard tubes typically used with concrete. One such drum has a drum head made from painter's tape; another, from aluminum foil. The other two drums have drumheads made from clear and brown packaging tape, respectively.

Plastic ruler, craft stick and pen as makeshift thumb piano keys

In this episode, I demonstrate how I use a plastic ruler, wood craft stick and ballpoint pen as if they were keys on a thumb piano, aka mbira or kalimba. Basically, I hold each object down on a wood table with one hand and pluck one end of the object with the other, moving ruler, craft stick and pen forward and back as a way of shortening and lengthening each "key."

Cardboard tube roll horns

In this episode, I demonstrate how I play a cardboard tube roll from a box of aluminum foil as if the tube was a horn and a drum. Then I repeat the process with a horn I made from three cardboard tube rolls from paper towels, as well as a paper cup, all taped together.

In this episode, I demonstrate how I play didgeridoos I have made. Two such instruments are made from cardboard, two from bamboo and one from ABS tubing. The ABS tubing didgeridoo is actually a golfball retriever /storage device ("shag tube").

In this episode, I introduce rattles I have made myself. Two are made from gourds and corks. One is actually an eight ounce plastic drinking water bottle with three paper clips inside. The fourth rattle consists of a wood dowel, wood beads and hemp twine.

In this episode, I demonstrate how I produce sounds from an eight ounce plastic drinking water bottle. First, I blow gently across the open mouth of the bottle. Then I tap and slap the open mouth and bottom. Finally, I rub one side of the bottle with a pen.
