It's an unpolished gem, a movie that has heart in the writing but ham in the acting and iffy production. Starring names such as Dennis Hopper and Charles Dance, one could easily think that Space Truckers would be of some quality, but that notion is quickly dispelled. Still, the movie in entertaining and well worth to watch for some laughs.

The Gate is a fantasy/horror movie from 1987 starring a young Stephen Dorff (Blade, True Detective). A movie obviously meant for a younger audience which scared Magnus as a child. So we sat down so he could revisit his childhood. Spoilers, it wasn't as scary as he remembered it. But we did get a good laugh.

There is a great divide within what we might call nerdom. Today, it's more politics than story in mediums like movies, comics and games. Being a fan is no longer just appreciating entertainment, it's equally or even more taking a stance for politics and ideology according to certain people. Now we see the consequences of the progressive infection, how you no longer can have entertainment without a ideological whip cracking somewhere and if you oppose it, you might find yourself on the short end of the stick. But it's not only in the fandom, creators and publishers have also been infected and this leads to total destruction of once great IPs and franchises.

This is more or less a rant from my perspective on the issue at hand and what I think could be done about it. Give it a listen and tell me if you agree or disagree. We need to come back to civil discussion, not keep slinging mud all the time.

No monster is more renowned than the vampire. From the epic of Gilgamesh in ancient Mesopotamia to modern pop culture interpretations, what we know of as vampire seems to have always been part of human society. But without doubt, the most iconic representation of the horrid bloodsucker today is that of Dracula (1897), created by Abraham "Bram" Stoker in his novel with the same name. More recently though, Dracula has become synonymous with the game series Castlevania, created by Konami for the NES and released the first time in 1986.

But how has the vampire aged and evolved in our time? We can't say it really has retained it's status as monster of pure evil with series like Twilight, True Blood and such. So is it maybe time for the monster to go back to it's roots and be the monster we all used to fear? We deal with the subject at hand in our usual ranty way.

Then we have Brie Larson saying her role as Carol Danvers, a.k.a. Captain Marvel, will be her (Larson's) way of activism, potentially damning the whole of MCU with it.
