When I was a teenager I recall many Christians searching for hidden satanic messages in song lyrics. The Christian band Petra, actually punked these people out by recording a backwards lyric that said “Why are you looking for the devil when you ought to be looking for the Lord?” 

Perhaps, instead of looking for Satan in song lyrics, we should be looking for inspiration from the Holy Spirit?

That world to the internet and AI is a world created by man and now worshiped by man. Just as Baal and other pagan gods were the creation of men’s hands.

We view that as a punishment, but it is also a blessing. Few things provide the genuine satisfaction of a job well done. Working the land, working with animals, using your hands to provide food and security for your family offers a true, real sense of satisfaction. The closer you are to God’s creations, the closer you are to God.

How much does it cost to protect the lives of innocent children? Why is it when the subject of school security comes up that the first place people will go is money? The book “Knights of St. NIcholas: Protector of Children” is out and available.

Christ was speaking of John the Baptist in this verse. However, it made me think about us and our temporary journey here on this earth. Will it be said of us when we depart that others were able to “rejoice for a while” in the light we provided? 

Are we acting as a light to our family and our friends? Or do we bring darkness into the lives of others?  We have a choice to make everyday. Have you ever had a friend who never has anything good to say or to report?  

We all go through ups and downs. Christ himself felt sadness and disappointment. Jesus wept at the news of his friend Lazarus’s death. Christ was disappointed that his disciples could not even stay awake to watch with him on the night of his betrayal. He was betrayed by a friend, Judas. Despite this, Christ provided us with encouragement and hope. Jesus had compassion and showed love. He was the light of the world.

Again therefore Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world; he who follows Me shall not walk in the darkness, but shall have the light of life.”  John 8:12

Christ was our perfect example. Will we follow that example and be a light to those around us?

Our world is designed to separate us, to make us live as individuals or loners. We witnessed the ridiculous nonsense of the forced separation and the insultingly stupid “alone together” mental conditioning.

Choosing not to decide is still a choice. God our Father loved us so much that he gave us free will. We have the free will to do what is right and good, but also to do what is evil or simply to ignore the righteous and good and do nothing.

Recently I was talking with an acquaintance regarding new team members or more specifically, how to determine if potential new team members were serious.  How do we know that the enthusiastic new member is genuinely interested in becoming a part of the team, not just a member of the “cool kids” club?

Do they desire to serve others or are they concerned with themselves and their own ego first? Traumatic medical training forces the participant to consider or prepare to serve others. While tactical or shooting endeavors lend themselves toward ego gratification.

We often view the story of Noah as a quaint children’s story about animals. However, the true story of Noah is about faith, patience, and the chance to repent.

I’m working on a new passion project.  Saint Nicholas is the patron saint and protector of children.  Despite the cartoon character that the world has made him, the example of Nicholas as the protector of children is one that we can emulate.  

While working on the project, it occurred to me that we should be seeking out and supporting businesses in our industry that are also owned and operated by faithful Christians. Black Hills ammunition, CrossBreed Holsters, Justin Moon from Kahr Arms is an outspoken Christian.

I was standing at the counter of the heavy equipment rental counter. I could see the desks of the workers and they were a cluttered mess. The walls were adorned with hooks that supported innumerable parts and components.

Are we more concerned with appearances or the image of order than we are with getting the actual work done.  What are more important appearances or accomplishments?

In the military, they use the inspection as a way to ensure that the standards are being maintained. From small unit inspections all the way up to General level inspections. When I was working as a military contractor, the active duty personnel would frequently go into freak out mode because the “brass” from Virginia were coming for an inspection.   

For our part, we/I never worried about inspections. If you always do the right thing, you never have to worry about a surprise inspection. The only people who fear inspections are those who make a habit of NOT doing the right thing; the lazy and lackadaisical.

The same principle applies to the children of God. We need not fear the second coming of Christ, the rapture, if we spend our lives following Christ’s instructions. 

48But if that evil slave says in his heart, ‘My [al]master [am]is not coming for a long time,’ 49and he begins to beat his fellow slaves, and he eats and drinks with those habitually drunk;50then the [an]master of that slave will come on a day that he does not expect, and at an hour that he does not know,51and he will [ao]cut him in two and assign [ap]him a place with the hypocrites; in that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. Matthew  24:48-51

We fail and experience frustration when we lean on our own understanding. When men look to other men or, worse, themselves, they are setting up for failure. Lean on your creator, you heavenly Father first and always.

What is more important, the ceremony or kindness, mercy, and righteousness? Do we become so wrapped up in ceremony that we forget the primary mission of being a follower of Christ?

When the Temple, Church, Synagogue, Mosque, etc. require that you pass an initiation test to be in their club, is that required for salvation? 

and though you have not seen Him, you love Him, and though you do not see Him now, but believe in Him, you greatly rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory,  obtaining as the outcome of your faith, the salvation of your souls. By creating club initiation rules for the promise of salvation, we deny God’s grace. We become arrogant men, acting and behaving as if we can earn our place. This action rejects the sacrifice of our Lord, Jesus Christ.

Unfortunately, being a church member is not a guarantee of support. We actually had a congregation turn their back on one of our students one time who got into a shooting. This is before all the church shootings got en vogue. I remember back when they thought that God would protect you in church, and now they figured out that God said you should protect yourself in church. Now all these churches have security teams, which means the people who were already carrying guns in church are now officially carrying guns in church. God wants you to be armed. I just want to say that.

The path to Salvation is not complex and yet men want to make it complex. When we doubt, when we act and behave as though it is not that simple, Satan creeps into our hearts. It is Satan that sows the seeds of doubt in our minds.

The stories are for those who tell you that Christians must be silent and subservient, they must “turn the over cheek” and allow the world to walk all over them.

Has every generation thought that I was the last generation? How do we know that “the time is short”?  During a recent radio appearance, I advised the listeners that it was time to get right with God and Jesus. I was not being glib.

It is not for man to predict the final hour of the final day, it is for man to be prepared at all times.

“So remember what you have received and heard; and keep it, and repent. Then if you are not alert, I will come like a thief, and you will not know at what hour I will come to you.” Rev 3:3

The parable of the two sons is often confused with the parable of the prodigal son. Though the two stories are very similar.

“But what do you think? A man had two ]sons, and he came to the first and said, ‘Son, go work today in the vineyard.’ But he replied, ‘I do not want to.’ Yet afterward he regretted it and went. And the man came to his second son and said the same thing; and he replied, ‘I will, sir’; and yet he did not go. Which of the two did the will of his father?” They said, “The first.” Jesus said to them, “Truly I say to you that the tax collectors and prostitutes will get into the kingdom of God before you. For John came to you in the way of righteousness and you did not believe him; but the taxcollectors and prostitutes did believe him; and you, seeing this, did not even have second thoughts afterward so as to believe him. -Matthew 21:28-32

What is peace? Is peace a lack of conflict or is peace the presence of victory? Do Christians seek “peace” through silence and subservience? Do we allow the evils of the world to dominate us in order to avoid conflict so that we can have what we believe is peace? 

Modern, so-called churches have given themselves over to the sins of the world in order to get along with the world. What is the primary duty of a Christian? Is it to get along with the world? 

32“Therefore, everyone who [x]confesses Me before people, I will also confess [y]him before My Father who is in heaven. But whoever denies Me before people, I will also deny him before My Father who is in heaven.

34“Do not think that I came to [z]bring peace on the earth; I did not come to [aa]bring peace, but a sword. 35For I came to TURN A MAN AGAINST HIS FATHER, AND A DAUGHTER AGAINST HER MOTHER, AND A DAUGHTER-IN-LAW AGAINST HER MOTHER-IN-LAW; 36and A PERSON’S ENEMIES WILL BE THE MEMBERS OF HIS HOUSEHOLD.

37“The one who loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me; and the one who loves son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me. 38And the one who does not take his cross and follow after Me is not worthy of Me. 39The one who has found his [ab]life will lose it, and the one who has lost his [ac]life on My account will find it.

Graveyards are “peaceful” there is no conflict there. Should we aspire to the grave?   Jesus gave his disciples the authority to cast out demons in His name. You must cast the demons out of your churches, your families, and your communities, but the demons will not go quietly. There will be conflict but after victory there will be true peace.

Praise God and thank him for the gift of the Holy Spirit which gives men the courage to stand upon principle and disregard the threats of sinful men. Men and a woman of principle affirmed that murdering a child is not a Constitutional Right. 

Why does many believe that sin should be used to fix or cover up sin? “She made a mistake. So, she should have the choice to an abortion.”  The word “choice” is one of Satan’s best lies to date. In their mind, there is no choice, unless that choice is to kill the inconvenient baby.

Then some children were brought to Him so that He would lay His hands on them and pray; and the disciples rebuked them. But Jesus said, “Leave the children alone, and do not forbid them to come to Me; for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.”  Matthew 19:13-14

You know the commandments: 'Do not murder, do not commit adultery, do not steal, do not bear false witness, do not cheat others, honor your father and mother.'"  Mark 10:19

How do we recognize poisonous people in our lives and how do we deal with them? What happens when you spend time around poisonous people? Lessons from parenting, the one good kid never brings the bad kids to the light, it is always the other way around. 

Hollywood and New York is an evil cesspool of sin and deviancy, so is Washington DC. The people who live there worship money and power and engage in every type of immoral behavior. 

“But shouldn’t we love everyone? Everyone is a child of God, right?” 

Do not let your heart envy sinners, But live in the fear of the LORD always. Proverbs 23:17

I urge you, brothers and sisters, to watch out for those who cause divisions and put obstacles in your way that are contrary to the teaching you have learned. Keep away from them. For such people are not serving our Lord Christ, but their own appetites. By smooth talk and flattery they deceive the minds of naive people. Romans 16:17-18

Why do men who profess to be Christians claim to find sin or immoral behavior where the Bible does not? Alcohol, Coffee, Tobacco, Nicotine, Chocolate, etc. Which of the 10 Commandments do these violate? 

Nicotine is an alkaloid found in the nightshade family of plants (Solanaceae), predominantly in tobacco, and in lower quantities in tomato, potato, eggplant (aubergine), and green pepper.  www.sciencedaily.com 

17And when He later entered a house, away from the crowd, His disciples asked Him about the parable. 18And He *said to them, “Are you so lacking in understanding as well? Do you not understand that whatever goes into the person from outside cannot defile him, 19because it does not go into his heart, but into his stomach, and [i]is eliminated?” (Thereby He declared all foods clean.)

20And He was saying, “That which comes out of the person, that is what defiles the person.21For from within, out of the [j]hearts of people, come the evil thoughts, acts of sexual immorality, thefts, murders, acts of adultery, 22deeds of greed, wickedness, deceit, indecent behavior, [k]envy, slander, [l]pride, and foolishness. 23All these evil things come from within and defile the person.”  Mark 7:17-23

Paul was a devout Jew and even a Pharisee. He knew the Old Testament and the words of the prophets and he used the words of the prophets to preach to the Jews and remind them of the prophecy of the Messiah. Yet, instead of listening to the truth, to facts, their hearts were hardened and they turned on Paul.

The sin of covetousness. Why did God give these two commandments to Moses? Envy and jealousy are poison that steals our happiness. When we covet that which belongs to others, we put our focus on worldly things not Godly things.  

The commandments, “You shall not commit adultery,” “You shall not murder,” “You shall not steal,” “You shall not covet,” and whatever other command there may be, are summed up in this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.” -Romans 13:9

10After we had been there several days, a prophet named Agabus came down from Judea. 11Coming over to us, he took Paul’s belt, bound his own feet and hands, and said, “The Holy Spirit says: ‘In this way the Jews of Jerusalem will bind the owner of this belt and hand him over to the Gentiles.’ ” 12When we heard this, we and the people there pleaded with Paul not to go up to Jerusalem. Acts 21:10-12

Paul’s friends did not want him to go to Jerusalem for fear the Jews would arrest him and put him to death. However, Paul understood that God has plans that men cannot understand. 

For I have taken all this to my heart and explain it that righteous men, wise men, and their deeds are in the hand of God. Man does not know whether it will be love or hatred; anything awaits him.  ECC 9:1

Due to the hatred and accusations of the Jews, Paul was able to testify to people who were in power as well as to tens of thousands of people who otherwise would not have had the Gospel taught to them.

I recently had a thoughtful conversation with a man and he asked me how I knew that God was real. For a moment, I had a bit of worry that I would not say the right thing or say enough. However, that moment was fleeting. I recalled the words of Christ from the Gospel of Luke. 

Remember, it is not your job to change men’s hearts. You cannot force a change and you do not need to worry about changing men’s hearts, that is not your job. Your job is to spread the word, to deliver the message, sow the seeds.

18“Listen then to the parable of the sower. 19When anyone hears the [i]word of the kingdom and does not understand it,the evil one comes and snatches away what has been sown in his heart. This is the one sown with seed beside the road.20The one sown with seed on the rocky places, this is the one who hears the word and immediately receives it with joy;21 yet he has no firm root in himself, but is only temporary, and when affliction or persecution occurs because of the [j]word, immediately he [k]falls away. 22And the one sown with seed among the thorns, this is the one who hears the word, and the anxiety of the [l]world and the deceitfulness of wealth choke the word, and it [m]becomes unfruitful. 23But the one sown with seed on the good soil, this is the one who hears the word and understands it, who indeed bears fruit and produces, some a hundred, some sixty, and some thirty times as much.”  Matt. 13:18-23

During a recent Legion of Michael Q&A session, I posed a question about food pantries or food banks. The answers I received disturbed me.

When God allowed Joseph to be sold into slavery by his jealous brothers, he did not know that he was going to Egypt to save his people.

What does it mean to be the gray man? How about the Christian gray man? 

And the LORD said to Moses, “Send out for yourself men to spy out the land of Canaan, which I am giving to the Israelites. From each of their fathers’ tribes send one man who is a leader among them.”  Numbers 13:1-2   

The spies were gray men, but they were on a mission. They were gathering information.

And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites. For they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by men. Truly I tell you, they already have their full reward. But when you pray, go into your inner room, shut your door, and pray to your Father, who is unseen. And your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.  Matt 6:5-6

We should all know the story of Saul, who became Paul and along with Peter became one of the two pillars of the original Church of Christ.

This weekend was WrestleMania and the event began Friday night with the WWE Hall of Fame induction ceremony. The main event of the HOF ceremony was the induction of Mark Calloway, The Undertaker. During his extremely uplifting and heartfelt acceptance speech, Mark took the time to acknowledge his wife, Michelle, and thank her for strengthening his relationship with his “Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ”.

We need to appreciate the magnitude of that statement and how God, through the Holy Spirit, gave Mr. Calloway the courage to speak those words. We also should recognize how God put a woman in his life to ensure that he was able to testify to over a million people around the world.

Actions have consequences. This is the nature of the world, regardless of the fact that men try to remove consequences from their actions. It is not just the sinful and worldly that fall into this trap. Christians fall into the same trap when they excuse sinful and evil behavior. 

As a parent, when your child does foolish or dangerous things, do you correct them and point out the consequences or do you remain silent for fear of hurting their feelings?

If man is destined to keep making the same mistakes, over and over, then there is no hope for mankind. Or is there? Is it a good or bad thing that men have the same types of problems today as they did a hundred or a thousand years ago?

When I was a young man, an early teenager, I had an embarrassing moment involving a girl of whom I was very fond. My dad, sensing my embarrassment, sat down and told me a story from his youth where he did something embarrassing. It made me feel better to know that I was not the only person who ever embarrassed themself.

We have the words of the prophets to reassure us. Our heavenly Father has provided us with lessons so we may learn from them and do better than those who came before us. I believe the reason mankind keeps making the same mistake is because out of arrogance, man looks to himself or other men for the answers. Rather, they should humble themselves and look to their heavenly Father and His word.

Most all of us have heard of or listened to “new age” parents as they interact with their children. We hear them asking their toddlers what they want to eat. We listen to them as they use the weak voice and attempt to use reason or logic with a small child. Have you heard these new age parents say that they want to allow their children to express themselves however they see fit.

In our world we are bearing witness to the results of the No Spanking / Time Out generation. We see the results of self-esteem training and the “everyone gets a trophy” mentality.

Perhaps, it is this new age thinking that gets in the way of Christians relationships with their Father. Humans default to mirror thinking. They believe that everyone does or should think as they do. They apply their worldly thinking to God. They have spent so long convincing themselves that there is no right or wrong answer, there is only how you feel. They forget that there is genuine good and genuine evil in the world.

Oeople apply their new age thinking to their relationship with their heavenly Father. They ignore His commandments when those get in the way of what they desire or their feelings.

Of all the times of the year, it seems that autumn is the time that people most often consider the change of the seasons, followed by the spring. Why is this? Besides PSL and calf boots?

Our world is filled with “Christian browsers”, people who read just enough to pretend or who want to lecture the faithful about how they should behave. Imagine a new PFC showing up at a unit and telling the veterans command how to behave? 

Social Media so-called Christians who post thoughtless comments, such as “You cannot be a Christian and hate homosexuals.” Congratulations on your stupidity. What does that even mean? If you do not agree with and endorse sinful behavior you “hate” and hating is a sin?

Unbelievers love to throw “render unto Caesar” at Christians as if that means the state takes precedence over God’s word and will. You know who else could quote the bible? 

Satan quoted Psalm 91 to Christ during his temptation.

What is the role of the Christian in the Constitutional Republic? 

We need to understand that our nation was founded to uphold individual liberty or free will as is God’s plan for his children. We also must understand civics and how the 3 branches of Govt work in order to ensure liberty for the people are restrictions for the state.

Free Will is a gift from God. Christians are not the mindless slaves portrayed by Hollywood. As a matter of fact, it is Hollywood who are the slaves.

We just spent an entire weekend engaged in training, but just as importantly, we engaged in camaraderie. The value of camaraderie cannot be understated, particularly during hard times. Camaraderie is not quite the same as a friendship. 

Shared experiences, particularly hardships, built camaraderie. “Adversity breeds camaraderie.”  Bonds are built through shared experiences both good and bad.

God’s law versus the laws of man.

Exodus 1:15-17 Pharaoh orders midwives to murder new born male babies.

Daniel Chapter 3 King Nebuchadnezzar ordered all men to bow down and worship a golden statue. Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego refused and God saved them.

Daniel Chapter 6 Darius signed a decree forbidding worship of any god by him. Daniel is cast into the den of lions. God sends an angel to shut the lions’ mouths. (Michael?)

Satan is the great deceiver and liar. His minions are everywhere, particularly in our government. Satan, through his minions, tries to convince you that the laws of man carry the same weight as the laws of God, that they are on equal footing. They are not.

Do we pray to God for miracles and still continue to worry? We have been shown numerous times in the Bible that our prayers must be supported by faith.  Being the benefactor of thousands of prayers, I understand the power of faith.

The State endorses fornication and sodomy in defiance of the word of God.

The State sanctions the murder of babies, even to the day they are born, because they are “inconvenient” to the mother.

The State supports and promotes covetousness. If you vote for them, they will take away your neighbor’s money and give it to you.

The State persecutes Christians on behalf of the sinner and those who have given their souls over to Satan.

You have a choice to make. You can obey God’s law and word first or you can worship the state and put God second.

Satan has worked his lies throughout the world and convinced the faithful to remain silent in the face of sin and depravity. 

Just because a sin is popular and sanctioned by man does not remove the evil from it.

What does it mean to Covet? Does it mean to be jealous or envious?

Why is the sin of covetousness so dangerous to society? Where does this sin lead?

Does the State, the Government sin by inspiring and encouraging covetousness?  Socialism leads to covetousness and is a pathway to sin.

What your mind desires most is what your heart will worship first.

11Then the LORD said to Solomon, “Because you have done this and have not kept My covenant and My statutes, which I have commanded you, I will tear the kingdom away from you and give it to your servant. 12Nevertheless, for the sake of your father David, I will not do it during your lifetime; I will tear it out of the hand of your son. 13Yet I will not tear the whole kingdom away from him. I will give one tribe to your son for the sake of My servant David and for the sake of Jerusalem, which I have chosen.”

What do you say to people who claim that a man cannot pick up a rifle and be a faithful Christian at the same time?

9 Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor: 10  If either of them falls down, one can help the other up. One of the biggest hurdles when it comes to starting up a new church security team is recruiting members and keeping them active. Some who initially desire to be members will not possess the qualifications. How can we make the most of the talents available in our congregation?

How do we go about recruiting for your Legion of Michael Church Security Team? What are the characteristics for which we should be looking?

King Solomon, in Proverbs, commands us to rebuke and correct the scoffer as well as to correct the faithful. Jude gives us warning about allowing the condemned and evil to poison our congregations and lead them astray.  

Proverbs 19:9  As false witness shall not be unpunished, and he that speaketh lies shall perish.  

19:25 Strike a scoffer and the [a]naive may become shrewd, But reprove one who has understanding and he will [b]gain knowledge.

Proverbs 24:24-25 He who says to the wicked, “You are righteous,” Peoples will curse him, nations will abhor him; But to those who rebuke the wicked will be delight, And a good blessing will come upon them.

Deuteronomy 9:5 It is not because of your righteousness or your integrity that you are going in to take possession of their land; but on account of the wickedness of these nations, the LORD your God will drive them out before you, to accomplish what he swore to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.

Jude 1:4-7  (4) For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.

The first step to building is a solid foundation. What is our foundation? In Matthew 7:24-27 Christ admonishes us to build upon the rock, not the sand. 

God’s word is our rock, it is the foundation upon which all else must be built. How many of us have lost sight of the foundation, the basis for our faith? 

Let us consider the basics, the foundation, the principles upon which we will build our house, our faith. We will go back to the very beginning and lay the foundation upon which we will build the Legion of Michael.

The Archangel Michael is our example for strength and courage to defend the faithful against the forces of evil. Now, more than any time in our recent history, Christians must rediscover what it means to be fearless and courageous.

Christ admonished us in the book of Matthew; “Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven. But, whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven.”
