In John 3, Jesus had a conversation with Nicodemus about seeing the kingdom of God. He addressed Nicodemus by using both the first and third person in the same sentence! This was the method of evangelism that the Son of God used! This method was similar to how, as well as the reason why, He taught in parables. There was no argumentative standoff or battle that took place when Jesus shared His Father's kingdom with those who were willing to consider it - very telling!

In John 3:5 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again (of the cleansing water of the word of God and of the Spirit sent from above), he cannot see the kingdom of God.

There was no force of interrogation directed at Nicodemus that came out from Jesus. There was no attempt by Jesus to coerce or question him into making a right decision concerning Nicodemus having the knowledge (or spiritual vision) himself on how to gain entrance into the kingdom of God. Nicodemus’ interest and decision-making was all up to him according to his own willingness. This is a big part of the liberty of Christ that often gets overlooked. Nicodemus was free to take or leave Jesus' offer to freely receive life from God by the Spirit via the New Covenant of grace. (Note: The grace of God is received by way of the believer coming into direct, spiritual covenant with the Creator, not through adopting a proud theologian’s flawless, mind-crafted and man-beloved thesis work known as ‘the doctrines of grace’.)

The urge to become a member of Christ’s New Covenant way, or the order of the 7 spirits of God, has to come from within the person with ears to hear who will receive the revelation and prompting of the Spirit; not by a theological set of salvation steps or a soul-crafted gospel presentation of man’s polished words, and not by the pressurized urge of an evangelist or of one witnessing “in the name of the Lord.” Jesus is the Prince of peace because He and those of His kingdom do not operate by a compelling force, nor by a persuasiveness of fear, and neither by witchcrafts to seduce souls (as it is with false brethren and false evangelists who seek to find those who will obey THEIR words, thus making “converts” that are twice the sons of hell.).

When Jesus told Nicodemus, “marvel not that I said unto you...”, I believe He was instructing Nicodemus not to handle the word of God just spoken to him using the mere intellectual fascination of the scribes and Pharisees; something that had been ingrained in him in his temple upbringing and tradition training. Paul in 1 Corinthians 8 says this manner of knowledge puffs a person up with hidden pride because it comes from a source other than the Lord. (Truth be told, it comes from the kingdom of the god of this world.)

In John 2:23, it says many believed in His name (in who He was). Many believed that Jesus was indeed the Messiah or Christ sent by God. But what they had yet to understand was that in their act of believing (or in their faith), they were not just called to be mere admirers of Jesus and His works. They were called to have an open heart toward God in order to receive His word within them, directly from Him by the Spirit to become like Him in being born again or born from above. The ultimate intent or fulfilling purpose of Jesus was for His future followers to continue His works on the earth (ex: the removal of satan's influence from the earth) in behalf of Him (in His name): His kingdom come. We are called by the Spirit of the Lord to take up our cross (die to our flesh and our earthly generational ways) and enter into life in Christ Jesus and into the progressive and productive course of sojourning with the Creator from now on.

In John 2:25, Jesus did not commit himself to the temple order of the religious Jews, to take part in their religious system of indoctrinating men - one that uses the content of the scriptures to indoctrinate people intellectually. The problem or error in man’s way of intellectual indoctrination or abiding in temple order religion is 1- it’s not of faith and 2- it spiritually alters the word of God in the hearer. It becomes polluted by the intent of man. This renders the presentation void of the power and authority of heaven that’s vital for a person to become a true child of God who worships the Father in Spirit and in truth. (Think being seminary trained vs receiving revelation knowledge by the Spirit of the Lord.). The religious - those in Jesus’ time as well as man-indoctrinated Christians of today - may refer to themselves as God’s people, but in truth are likely bound in demonic spiritual darkness outside of the kingdom of God. First person fellowship between the Creator and the individual gets replaced with the doctrines of men and rendered spiritually cut off from God by the very system or religious order itself, the organization that proudly proclaims to be in the business of winning souls!

In John Ch 4, Jesus and the Samaritan woman at the well also had a conversation. The woman more or less led the discussion with her keen interest to know who Jesus really was. Notice that in the course of their conversation (and the Lord's evangelism), that Jesus asked her zero questions - again, no interrogation! The woman's own rising faith and a heart to accept the truth fueled her quickened spiritual pursuit of God, as well as her own evangelism soon after!

The sin that John the Baptist spoke in John 1 was the sin which the Lamb of God would take away from the world. This sin is the unpersuadable force of iniquity (see Strong’s G545 - contumacious) and a hardened heart that the religious Jews manifested against Jesus and His followers. The Pharisees were unpersuadable because they did not want Jesus to be the Messiah unless He submitted to them and honored them in their earthly, wealth-seeking temple order that fleeced those of whom they “served”, while at the same time failed to bring the Jewish nation into the true and life-bringing, soul-saving knowledge of God.

With all of this laid out before us, there’s little doubt that the American evangelical church has a huge internal problem that must be divinely dealt with...and the hour is at hand!

(This episode is the audio from The Creator's Pearl FB Live on 02/28/21.)
