The WWE roster cuts have generated a ton of reaction, and I want to talk about some of it honestly — including some thoughts that might be unpopular. The talent that was let go deserved better creatively, and some of them will land in much more fulfilling spots. But some of the discourse around how this news got out and who it got directed at feels a little misdirected. Sean Ross Sapp was doing his job. The frustration belongs somewhere else entirely.

Then the RAW after WrestleMania delivered in a big way. Jacob Fatu on Raw, setting up a program with Roman Reigns and the reformed Bloodline, is going to be a fantastic feud. Ethan Page looks like a star from night one. Sol Ruca got her moment. The Street Profits freshen up a tag division that desperately needed it. And Oba Femi is being handled exactly right.

And AEW Dynamite continues to be must-watch television with Darby Allin as champion already putting the title on the line. I love what Darby represents as champion and there is a line from his promo that I think opens a very interesting door for one particular stipulation that has been hanging over AEW for a while now.

On the NHL side, the Oilers did something nobody expected in Game 1, won without a single McDavid point, and got contributions from depth pieces that have been questioned all season. Anaheim pushed back, but that is a tough spot for a young team. Ottawa had its chances and then some, but could not convert, and the heartbreak of that one is real. The Flyers have been the most impressive story of the early playoffs; two road games, and they have looked like the more playoff-tested team throughout. Pittsburgh is in trouble. And Dallas found a way in a must-win situation with their big players stepping up exactly when they needed to, and Oettinger silencing some of his critics in the process.

On the NBA side, the Raptors are finding out quickly that this Cleveland series is going to be a real challenge. Game 2 showed some fight, but the gap is still clear. Brandon Ingram needs to be significantly better. They ran the offence through him in Game 2, and he was pretty dreadful with it. Colin Murray-Boyles has been a genuine bright spot, and getting minutes over Poeltl is a real statement. And James Harden is picking this Toronto defence apart with the only moment of flustering coming when they throw length at him on the switch.

The NHL bracket is filled out. Dallas over Montreal in the Stanley Cup Final is the pick, and I know that is going to be a conversation starter. Getting the Canadiens there is the boldest call on the board. Dallas beating both Minnesota and Colorado to get out of the Central is another one. And I have both Vegas and Edmonton losing in the first round, so there is plenty to push back on here.

Then, the NHL Pressure Rankings heading into the playoffs. Edmonton is number one on the list, but one name on there has nothing to do with a team, and that might be the most interesting pick of the bunch.

The full NBA bracket comes next. Oklahoma City over the Knicks in the Finals is the destination, but getting New York there through the Pistons and the Celtics is probably the hottest take on the board. There is also an admitted Homer pick in here that a certain Canadian fan base is going to appreciate.

And we close with the UFC 327 Stock Watch, who helped themselves and who hurt themselves coming out of one of the more extraordinary nights in recent UFC history.

I reveal my top ten best players in baseball heading into 2026, the three breakout candidates worth keeping an eye on, including a Blue Jays name on that list, and the five teams I think are being significantly overvalued heading into the season. Then I look at four teams that need a strong 2026 more than anyone else in baseball.

The Toronto Raptors are in a fascinating spot in the Eastern Conference standings, and Ja'Kobe Walter is giving this team something to feel good about. But there is a real problem lurking beneath the surface that could hurt them when it matters most.

On the NHL side, the Oilers are running out of time to blow their position, but something needs to change. And the AJ Greer suspension, or lack thereof, has me genuinely furious, and I am not holding back on why the NHL's discipline department has completely lost the plot.

The best remaining NFL free agents are still out there, and I run through the ten names that should still be generating serious interest from contenders.

And WWE SmackDown had its moments this week, but mostly felt like a filler episode, with one genuinely excellent match and a tag title change that opens up some interesting possibilities.

SEAHAWKS DEFENSE WAS HISTORIC: One of the best defensive performances you'll ever see. Had Drake Maye seeing ghosts—even when there wasn't pressure coming, he felt like he was under it. Completely shut down the run (Stevenson and Henderson getting nothing until garbage time). Mixed things up brilliantly—didn't go Eagles 2024 with zero blitzes, but still getting there with four rushers regularly. That Witherspoon blitz was LETHAL.

WILL CAMPBELL WAS A DISASTER: Pretty sure I heard him say on draft night "I'd die for Drake Maye"—but my memory must be off, because clearly he said "I'm going to get Drake Maye killed." Completely dominated all game and all playoffs. So now what? Not a great OT free agent class, five OTs with first-round grades on ESPN's board but no clear solution. He just has to get better.

PATRIOTS PLAY CALLING FAILED MAYE: Everyone saw this was a problem all playoffs and all season when tested. How was Plan A "run the offense as normal" and Plan B "hope Plan A works?" Zero creativity, zero movement off his spot, zero threat of a run. When breaking down this game, the one area where NE could give Seattle problems was Maye extending plays with his legs. But they didn't even create the THREAT of a rollout, so Seattle's defense locked in on a statue. They did NOTHING to slow this pass rush.

PATRIOTS COACHING HAD A TOUGH DAY:

• Not going for two (could've made it an 11-point game) was a mistake
• Didn't help Maye with creativity
• Didn't go for it on 4th down
• All understandable given how dominant Seattle was—even on 4th and 2 you probably weren't getting it
• They were hoping old Sam Darnold would show up and give them life. He never did.

MAYE DIDN'T HELP HIMSELF: He could have rolled out and run on his own—he had no leash. He looked overwhelmed. You could see him looking behind him constantly, aware of the rush. His first read seemed to be his left tackle, THEN his progressions. And when he WASN'T under pressure, he missed throws. You can understand being off with everything he was dealing with, but they needed him to be better.

BACK TO SEATTLE: Kenneth Walker III was ELECTRIC. Said going in that if he gets going there's no stopping this team—he was fantastic. Patient, explosive, effective all game. That O-line dominated. Love to see him get his moment, especially with Charbonnet injured.

Darnold was solid—avoided the back-breaking turnover that could've given NE life. Game managed perfectly, which is exactly what the situation called for. A couple throws just missing from having a monster game. Christian Gonzalez saved a couple of bomb TDs—was the Patriots' best player all game.

Kupp was exactly what they needed—calming everything down. With NE taking JSN away, Kupp stepped up with important catches to keep drives moving.

The Atlanta Hawks traded Trae Young to the Washington Wizards for Malcolm Brogdon, Corey Kispert, and picks. I've said I'm out on Trae Young, and I still am. The timing is weird—Atlanta was actually turning things around at 9-10 after a brutal start. But I get why Washington took this shot. They gave up players I don't mind losing, and if you want to take a swing, this was the most realistic option. I just don't think it will work, and it can't get in the way of developing Bilal Coulibaly, Alex Sarr, and Kyshawn George.

For Atlanta? This is EXCELLENT. Brogdon and Kispert fit perfectly with the offense they were running with Young on the shelf. They add depth to an already sneaky good and deep team. The Hawks were 2-8 in the 10 games Trae Young played this season. Now they have a really solid 10-man unit, are apparently in on Anthony Davis, and still have great draft capital and tradeable players.

Cena received "YOU STILL GOT IT" chants from people who, for YEARS, didn't want to admit he ever had it in the first place. And it finished the way it was always going to - not with one last John Cena 1-2-3, but with a WIN for Cena's VISION of how he wanted to go out: leaving the wrestling world better than he found it.

He did what he always promised - give us everything he had. At this point, all he had left to give was one last big match and the rub to a top guy who can carry it forward. They just didn't anticipate that crowds who for years never wanted him to win, didn't want him to lose.

Perfect ending. Just wish there were more Cena moments than just wrestlers saying thanks. NXT wrestlers shined on the big stage.

Monday Night RAW Recap: Gunther opening the show was EXCELLENT - if there was ANY doubt he was the right guy for this spot, that doubt is gone. Austin Theory revealed as the masked man - played it well but follow-up is crucial because no one's inspired yet. Rest of the show felt a touch dull. Usos vs New Day was neat but Grayson Waller's involvement doesn't make sense. Maxxine Dupri vs Ivy Nile was solid, Maxxine putting in work, but felt rushed after Natalya storyline. Nikki Cross run-in on Raquel/Vaquer was lame - Stephanie Vaquer needs these wins right now.
