Despite being called the 25th anniversary of WrestleMania, WrestleMania 25 was not that. Nor was it a great show. From men winning divas battle royals, to Kid Rock getting way too much screen time, to John Cena being jackhammered into an Edge and Big Show feud, to the blood feud between Triple H and Randy Orton being neutered by a stipulation, this show was not great. However, there were some high points, especially when it came to Undertaker vs. Shawn Michaels.

Episode 181: WCW World War 3 1995

Sixty Men... Three Rings... Three Giants... One Battle Royal! That was the tagline for the very first ever World War 3 event for WCW in 1995. It was not great, but it was unique and it drew a pretty good sized house in Virginia. Johnny B. Badd (not shockingly) opens the show against DDP for the TV Title and it tests the Diamond Doll's allegiances. The All Japan women are in tag-team action that puts what the WWF did a month earlier to shame. Big Bubba Rogers and Jim Duggan face off in a Taped Fist match (yes, really), Sting takes on Ric Flair in a forgotten match-up, and Lex Luger faces an injured "Macho Man" Randy Savage. In the main event, we've got 3 rings, 3 commentary teams, 60 men, 3 giants, and 1 winner. However, the finish was marred with controversy and you'll see why. Let's just say that it makes the babyface Hulk Hogan look like a giant douche. In the news, we discuss one of Vince McMahon's lawyers being investigated by the FBI, WCW and NJPW's working relationship possibly coming to an end, Sabu's surprise return to ECW, and much more!

This is a comprehensive review of the greatest wrestling trilogy of all time. We will hear no other contenders! In 1989, "Nature Boy" Ric Flair took on Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat at 3 separate events: Chi-Town Rumble, Clash of the Champions VI: Ragin' Cajun, and WrestleWar '89: Music City Showdown. All 3 events kind of sucked and drew like crap. However, the one and only match from all 3 events that anyone was talking about (and is still talking about to this day) is Flair vs. Steamboat. Your Main Event Marks watched all 3 events in full and will review the main event matches for you in detail, giving our opinions as well as the opinions from Uncle Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer "News" letter at the time.

Episode 180: WWF This Tuesday in Texas

Just 6 days after Survivor Series 1991, we've got a shortened show titled This Tuesday in Texas. The Undertaker was only 1 year into his WWF run when he defeated the goose that laid the golden eggs, Hulk Hogan, to become WWF Champion on Taker's 1 year anniversary (with the help of Ric Flair). Now, he's the defending champion against The Hulkster. "Macho Man" Randy Savage also looks for revenge on the evil snake man, Jake "The Snake" Roberts, who had been making Savage and Miss Elizabeth's lives a living Hell for months, including crashing their wedding reception and having a cobra bite Macho Man. Bret Hart also takes on Skinner, the British Bulldog does battle with the Warlord, and Repo Man teams with Ted DiBiase against Virgil and El Matador to continue "The Million Dollar Man's" feud with his former "servant." This show took place on December 3, 1991, at the Freeman Coliseum in San Antonio, Texas. The event was an attempt by the WWF to establish Tuesday as a secondary pay-per-view night. Lukewarm reaction and a disappointing 1.0 buyrate rendered the experiment a failure, and the company shelved its plans until October 2004, when it held Taboo Tuesday.

Episode 179: ECW November to Remember 1995

The show may be called "November to Remember," but both the show and the year 1995 are things WE DO NOT want to remember! Per our usual arrangement, this show was a bleeding, disorganized mess. We did get to see some crazy things like Mikey Whipwreck defeating Steve Austin (pre Stone Cold) for the ECW Title and "The Hardcore Legend" Terry Funk in tag-team action with his protege, Tommy Dreamer. But beyond that, you're looking for corn in a turd. This dropped (pardon the poop pun) a day before Survivor Series and while the WWF wasn't pumping out golden content at this time, ECW was putting out a MUCH inferior product (in our opinions). In the news, we cover the ongoing (and brand new) Monday Night Wars, the WCW and NJPW relationship going into Starrcade, ECW in hot water with the Pennsylvania State Athletic Commission over a fire incident, ECW wrestlers jumping ship, the economy crashing in Mexico effecting the wrestling industry, whether or not Randy Savage is injured, and much more!

Episode 178: WWF Survivor Series 1995

Yes, we're going back to one of the worst years in professional wrestling history. The good news is this "New Generation" show is actually somewhat fondly remembered by wrestling historians. Diesel has been the WWF Champion for a loooong time and business has been way down. So, now what? We're going back to Bret Hart! There are also some pretty weird match-ups in the Survivor Series elimination matches, but it makes for some interesting situations. Women from All Japan Women's Wrestling are also imported for a 4-on-4 match that was...tolerable. Troy is flying solo through the majority of this one, but "The Main Event Collector" Greg is joining him for the actual review of the event itself. In the news, everything is going to crap for WWF, WCW, ECW, and the USA indies (financially-wise). WCW and WWF and doing battle in the ratings as Nitro is trying to heat itself up and fans are turning on Hulk Hogan. This and much more on the show!

Episode 177: NWA Starrcade ’84 (The Million Dollar Challenge)

This was Starrcade main event match 1-of-2 between Ric Flair and Dusty Rhodes. However, this one...was for money! Soooo much money on the line in this show. Not only was a $1 million check on the line in the main event (along with, ya know, the World Heavyweight Title), but money was also on the line in the match of Tully Blanchard vs. Ricky Steamboat (along with, ya know, the World Television Title). This show was very repetitive in that respect. Joe Frazier was also the the referee for the main event, was supposed to be a babyface, and Dusty Rhodes (who was ALSO supposed to be a babyface) came off as a complete s**t heel against him and Ric Flair! Also on this show, we get the US Title on the line in a geriatric showdown between Wahoo McDaniel and "karate master" (not joking) "Superstar" Billy Graham. We also see matches for the NWA Mid-Atlantic Heavyweight Title, NWA Brass Knuckles Title, NWA Florida Heavyweight Title, and NWA World Junior Heavyweight Title, plus a bunch of other craziness. We break that all down! Also, in the news, we discuss the WWF's business being on shaky ground, the drawing power or possible lack thereof of Hulk Hogan, Japan's business is taking off, the American territories are trying to hang on while "the big two" are going national, Rocky III looking very different if history was slightly altered, the Road Warriors throwing their weight around, an infamous moment on 20/20 that blacklisted a small-time wrestler, and much more!

Episode 176: WCW Halloween Havoc 1998 (A Complete Disaster)

Most of this show can honestly be described as, "This is stuff we could have, and SHOULD HAVE, only had to see on Nitro or Thunder." Unfortunately, they threw it onto a show they expected people to pay for. However, those are not the big stories of this show. The two biggest stories of Halloween Havoc 1998 were the disastrous, craptastic match between Hollywood Hogan and The Warrior that was more historically bad than their WrestleMania VI match was good. Then, WCW follows that up with possibly the best match of Goldberg's career as he defends the WCW Title against Diamond Dallas Page. However, WCW forgot to let PPV providers know they were going to run very late, so viewers sat through the embarrassing Hogan/Warrior match, then as soon as Goldberg and DDP tied up, the PPV feed cut off. WCW had to show the match for free the next night on Nitro, costing them boat loads of money and angering PPV providers. In the news, Raw steamrolls Nitro in the ratings as Stone Cold abducts Mr. McMahon and makes him pee himself, the WWF works with both Mexican and Japanese promotions, Scott Hall's ex-wife speaks publicly about the wrestling industry, WCW diminishes their Mexican talent while Goldberg diminishes Chris Jericho, the ECW Tag Champions refuse to lose to the Dudley Boyz, roller derby is coming back, an historic wrestling promoter is close to death, and much more!

One night. One cage. Zero WarGames. 500 matches. Yeah, this one was a bit rough to watch. Damn near every single match had a jumpstart, an afterbirth, and was heavily overbooked. Crowds for WCW were severely dwindling by this point, there was speculation over a sale for WCW, leadership was in disarray, and the whole thing was just a giant mess. Booker T at least got to defend his WCW Title against Kevin Nash in a fairly straight-forward Caged Heat match (which was literally just a cage match) to close the show and Goldberg and Scott Steiner fooled us for a minute into thinking they'd have a good match. Episode 170: ECW Anarchy Rulz 1999

It's sometimes nice to see "new people" being put in the main event, but not this time. Balls Mahoney ends up going one-on-one with Rob Van Dam to close the show and it was NOT GOOD. A SHOULD BE main event ECW Title match is actually near the middle of the card. It also goes from Taz defending against Masato Tanaka to a Three Way Dance when Mike Awesome gets involved...AND WINS! This will open the door to a HUGE controversy for ECW that involves WCW and the WWF as Taz is on his way out and, unbeknownst to anyone, so is Mike Awesome. There is an awesome opening contest between Lance Storm and Jerry Lynn. There's enough on this card to keep it from being completely unwatchable, but it was good ole crappy ECW. In the news, we discuss Eric Bischoff being fired from WCW, Sting's heel turn going horribly wrong, Taz leaving ECW, rumors regarding the NFL paying off WWF, and much more!

This was honestly a pretty memorable SummerSlam for 2 reasons--Brock Lesnar absolutely tossing John Cena around like a young child and the fact that most of the attires worn on this show made it onto Mattel action figures! We review this show that was at a weird point in time for WWE. Brock Lesnar just broke the Undertaker's WrestleMania undefeated streak earlier in the year, so he was on a tear. Brie Bella was feuding with Stephanie McMahon and was about to transition into a feud with her own twin sister, Nikki. The Miz and Dolph Ziggler were stealing shows over the Intercontinental Title. Bray Wyatt and Chris Jericho were having an odd feud that was pretty entertaining, in the long run. Roman Reigns does battle with Randy Orton. Paige and AJ Lee have a rematch for the Divas Title. Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose continue their blood feud, but in a lame-ass Lumberjack match. Also, Rusev represents Russia against Jack Swagger, representing America, in a Flag match. In the news, we discuss Hulk Hogan giving interviews on Stone Cold Steve Austin, alleged racism backstage in WWE, a former MMA fighter thinking about breaking into wrestling, NJPW and ROH working together, drama over Alberto Del Rio, TNA not knowing where they're going to land for their iMPACT! Episode 168: ROH Death Before Dishonor XV

In 2017, Cody Rhodes wasn't in WWE or AEW--he was the reigning, defending Ring of Honor World Heavyweight Champion. On this show, one of the biggest of the ROH calendar year, he defended that title against visiting NJPW talent Minoru Suzuki in the main event. Unfortunately, that was fairly unimpressive. On the bright side, most of the rest of the card was really freakin' good. We see A LOT of the Young Bucks on this night as they defend the Tag Titles as well as attempt to win the Six Man Tag Titles. The now-disgraced "Villain" Marty Scurll faces one of the Best Friends, Chuckie T. KUSHIDA puts the ROH TV Title on the line against Kenny King. The future Damien Priest, Punishment Martinez takes on "Switchblade" Jay White in a Las Vegas Street Fight. Also, "The Last Real Man" Silas Young and Jay Lethal possibly have the match of the night as they face off in a Last Man Standing match. Also, in the news, we discuss the death of a legendary manager, a former WCW and WWE World Champion teasing a return to the ring, updates on Daniel Bryan's attempted journey back to the ring, where Rey Mysterio will end up, a major controversy over the FloSports streaming service, the death of Global Force Wrestling, and much, much more!

That's evident here in 2000, which was both a great year and a ridiculously stupid year in Vince McMahon's House of Hunky Men. We have the infamous E&C vs. Dudley Boyz vs. Hardy Boyz TLC match for the WWF Tag Titles on this show, Shane McMahon takes a bump for the highlight reels when he faces Steve Blackman for the Hardcore Title, and The Rock defends the WWF World Title against Triple H and Kurt Angle, who are also feuding over Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley. We also have some pretty awful stuff we'd rather soon forget, like Tazz taking on Jerry "The King" Lawler and JR shattering a candy jar over Tazz's head, a Thong Stink Face match between The Cat and Terri Runnels, and a lackluster DX members fight between Road Dogg and X-Pac. Bret Hart also defends his WWF World Title against his baby brother, Owen, in one of the greatest cage matches of all time. The thing a lot of people may forget about this show, though, is that "The Million Dollar Man" Ted DiBiase is EEEEVERYWHERE on this thing! He's involved in almost every feud, every match, and is a HUGE player in the landscape of WWF at this time. He's got the fake Undertaker. He's buying up superstars for his Million Dollar Corporation. He's got teams going for titles. He's mega integral to Vince McMahon's House of Fun at this time. We discuss all of this craziness, the crappiness of 'Taker vs. 'Taker while still being in awe of it, the awesomeness of the Hart vs. Hart cage match, and everything in between. In the news, we discuss the changing landscape of professional wrestling as a whole as Hulk Hogan is now the WCW Champion, the NWA looking to crown a new World Champion in ECW (SPOILER: This doesn't end well), Vader dominating back in Japan, the Gangstas in Smoky Mountain Wrestling being too hot to touch in many TV markets while also being disavowed by the NAACP, and much more!

Episode 164: WCW Bash at the Beach 1998 (WCW vs. NBA)

WCW went all-in with Bash at the Beach 1998, and it paid off in money but not with show quality. Even matches like Eddie Guerrero vs. Chavo Guerrero and Chris Jericho vs. a returning Rey Mysterio weren't all that great, dragged down by the overall show. Goldberg literally won the WCW World Title from Hollywood Hogan 6 days before this show, in the Georgia Dome, and he put that title on the line against Curt Hennig. That match felt like such an after thought and didn't last long, making Hennig look like a loser. Meanwhile, Hogan was still in the main event slot. He teamed with NBA megastar, Dennis Rodman, to take on Diamond Dallas Page and another NBA megastar, Karl Malone. There was tons of bad blood, controversy, and publicity leading into this one...and it wasn't great. All in all, this show was pretty bad, but WCW was still raking in the cash. So, what did they care?

In the news, we discuss continued fallout from Russo shooting his mouth off about Hulk Hogan at Bash at the Beach, the fallout from XPW "wrestlers" (using that term loosley) showing up at an ECW show in SoCal, ECW continuing to push for a new show after getting dropped by TNN, promotional wars in Japan, Buff Bagwell in legal hot water, the WWF punching back against censorship, and much, much more! Episode 159: WCW Great American Bash 1990

This is one of the best shows from this era of WCW and one of the greatest Great American Bash shows of all time! Your hosts, Troy & Greg, have personally seen this show 3-4 times. It was Sting's crowning achievement of FINALLY beating Ric Flair to sit atop the mountain as the WCW World Heavyweight Champion. The future Undertaker, "Mean" Mark Callous, also takes on Lex Luger for Luger's United States Title. This was actually Mark's "audition" for the WWF, which we discuss on the podcast. The NWA World and United States Tag Titles are on the line in matches. Vader debuts for WCW against the Z-Man. There are quite a few outdated things on this show that may make you cringe and...oh yeah...El Gigante debuted. But, other than that...this was pretty great! Episode 157: WWF King of the Ring 1994

Having said that, this may have been one of the weakest King of the Ring events of all time, but we did get one of the greatest matches under 4 minutes ever and a glimpse into the future of the WWF as Diesel takes on Bret Hart. The main event of this show was also one straight out of the Over the Hill Club as Jerry "The King" Lawler and "Rowdy" Roddy Piper face off in a comedically bad match that even bordered on "boring" at times. At least we've got some interesting news as Hulk Hogan joins WCW, there are 2 Undertakers, Smoky Mountain Wrestling is struggling to stay afloat, and nutty Herb Abrams is planning on running UWF in a HUGE building in Las Vegas, Nevada! Episode 154: ECW Hardcore Heaven ’99

For an ECW, we've done way worse and we WILL DO way worse. This one actually wasn't that bad. There were, per usual, a lot of very questional booking decisions. There were also some God awful matches and the usual ECW tropes. However, those weren't enough to drag this show down to the depths of usual ECW pay-per-views. Taz was supposed to wrestle Chris Candido in the main event, but that didn't happen because Candido and Tammy were leaving, so Heyman wanted to squash him early. So, instead, we get a thread with the Dudley Boys all night, taking out randos and then trying to take out Taz. Besides that, we got possibly the greatest RVD vs. Jerry Lynn match ever, Little Guido taking on Yoshihiro Tajiri, a special appearance by Sid, and much more! In the news, we discuss ECW's continued money woes (leading to Shane Douglas's second...or maybe third departure), WWF handing WCW their rear on a platter, WCW's booking going down the tubes while the inmates run the asylum, Gordon Solie having major health issues, and more on this week's show!

Episode 153: WWE Judgment Day 2004

The set is one of the most iconic ever for a WWE pay-per-view, but one word sums this show up: mid! From surprisingly disappointing matches from RVD & Rey Mysterio vs. The Dudley Boyz to Undertaker vs. Booker T, to not shockingly disappointing matches like Rico & Charlie Haas vs. Hardcore Holly & Billy Gunn to John Cena vs. Rene Dupree to Torrie Wilson vs. Dawn Marie, and even the debut of Mordecai vs. Scotty 2 Hotty...this show was meh. The main event was incredibly bloody, however, when Eddie Guerrero literal buckets of blood while defending his WWE Title against John "Bradshaw" Layfield. So...that was interesting! There was also a SERIOUSLY racist promo before the main event, delivered by JBL. In the news, we're talking about Bret Hart and Brock Lesnar being backstage at a WWE show but not under contract, Jeff Hardy being suspended AGAIN, Kenzo Suzuki getting a new gimmick because he was almost saddled with a pretty racist one, and much more!

In the main event WarGames match, Sting's Squadron (Sting, Barry Windham, Dustin Rhodes, Ricky Steamboat and Nikita Koloff) faced off against the Dangerous Alliance (Steve Austin, Rick Rude, Arn Anderson, Bobby Eaton and Larry Zbyszko) in a bloody, brutal, awesome match full of carnage! A match to determine the #1 contenders for the IWGP Tag Team Titles (involving the Steiners) is also pretty good, partners Flyin' Brian and The Z-Man explode for the WCW Light Heavyweight Championship, Terry Taylor and Greg Valentine defend the WCW US Tag Titles against the Fabulous Freebirds, and Johnny B. Badd is in action. We've also got a lot of goofy gimmicks like Big Josh and the Super Invader, so there's that. In the news, we discuss yet another leadership change in WCW, steroids and other drugs in wrestling, AAA forming after breaking away from EMLL, and much more!

Yup...this is all real. This would also be the third title change in less than 2 weeks. WCW was dead at this point, but this just really drove the knife in deeper, making sure that body was a corpse. Beyond this, we've got Ernest Miller in action against Bam Bam Bigelow, Billy Kidman continuing his feud with Hulk Hogan (through ANOTHER Hogan), Sting in a Tables match against The Wall (that actually happened), Tammy (AKA, Sunny) "wrestles" against Paisley (AKA, Sharmell), and everyone gets a run-in and an afterbirth to their matches. In the news, we discuss controversies over the WWF's TV deals, a WCW wrestler facing a WWF wrestler for the ECW Title in ECW, Tazz getting buried in WWF, and WCW continuously crapping the bed at every turn on both TV and PPV. Episode 150: WCW Spring Stampede 1998

We're taking a trip down memory lane to revisit one of the least memorable events in WCW history, Spring Stampede 1998. You'd think that with the list of big names on this show, it would've been a hit, but that didn't work for us, BROTHER! There were some good matches, like Booker T vs. Chris Benoit, Ultimo Dragon vs. Chavo Guerrero, Chris Jericho vs. Prince Iaukea for the Cruiserweight Title, and even Raven vs. DDP for the US Title was a mess...but a fun mess. Other than that, Rick Steiner and Lex Luger continued their boring feud with Scott Steiner and Buff Bagwell while the heels faked injuries, Curt Hennig and British Bulldog put on a bland match that was secondary to the shenanigans outside the ring, a severely injured Macho Man faced Sting to a meh match in the main event, and Hollywood Hogan teams with Kevin Nash to take on The Giant and Roddy Piper in a Baseball Bat on a Pole match...and it sucked a high, hard one. The NWO is exploding here, so at least we'd soon get the Wolfpack. Kevin Nash has to pull out of a match due to injury. So, "Team Nash" in Lethal Lockdown consists of DDP, Sean Waltman, and BG James. This may be one of the worst piece of crap shows any major wrestling company has ever produced. It's not for having a lack of star power, because we've got Ric Flair, Hulk Hogan, Vader, Macho Man, Sting, Jim Duggan, and more on this event. The problem is that WCW tried putting stupid stipulations on every match and it ruined a lot of it. They also didn't follow many of the rules that were put in place. Arn Anderson took on Johnny B. Badd in a Boxer vs. Wrestler match, Randy Savage faces Avalanche in a No DQ match (that ends in a way you wouldn't expect), Harlem Heat take on the Nasty Boys pretty much in a Concession Stand Brawl, and Hulk Hogan takes on Vader in a Strap match. Hogan will also introduce his "ultimate surprise," which is Ultimate Warrior look-alike, the Renegade. Also, let's not forget, not a single title was on the line all night. Good crap, pal! This was, to use a technical term, A SHOW. That was about it. For the final time WWF Monday Night Raw ever took place from the Georgia Dome in Atlanta, it sure was a showcase of mediocrity. However, who the hell did they have to compete against!? As we mention in the news, ECW was all but shutdown at this time and WCW was supposedly shutting down temporarily after being sold to Eric Bischoff and his investors. Oh, how naïve we were to believe that WCW would live. Either way, Molly Holly is hunting down Raven and his masked female friend. The Kat is leading the charge against the Right to Censor with her "right to nudity" campaign (completely real). We see copious amounts of Vince McMahon perving on Trish Stratus in his office. Enemies The Rock and Kurt Angle are teamed up to take on two more enemies, Triple H and Stone Cold Steve Austin, to compete in the main event. We do get an Intercontinental Title and Tag-Team Title match on this show, however. And yes, there are tons AND TONS of mentions of the XFL across this show. Speaking of dying companies... We make it fun and entertaining, however, even if the WWF didn't bother to.

Episode 139: NWA WrestleWar 1990: Wild Thing

This was a time in wrestling that was plagued by "Who could've foreseen that happening!?" In the NWA, Sting tore up his knee and completely tanked the idea to crown him the new champion at WrestleWar '90. So, what was the 180 NWA decided upon to face Ric Flair? Lex Luger! He was a fine replacement, but he didn't get the momentous win that Sting would have gotten. Also on this card, Dan Spivey completely no-showed, so in a Chicago Street Fight, the Road Warriors take on Mean Mark Callous and "the masked Skyscraper". The Midnight Express and Rock 'n' Roll Express also have, for their standards, a very average match that drags on forever. Flyin' Brian & Z-Man defend the US Tag Titles against the Freebirds, the Steiner Brothers defend the World Tag Titles against Ole & Arn Anderson, and much more! On the WWF side, they had to scramble to replace special guest referee Mike Tyson after he was knocked out in the Tokyo Dome by Buster Douglas. Also, they're working with both NJPW and AJPW. There are tons of contract issues going on in NWA. The AWA uses some disgusting tactics to draw sympathy. This all and much more on the new podcast!

We discuss that as well as reviewing the rubber match for Sycho Sid and Shawn Michaels in the Alamodome for the WWF Title, Mexican lucha libre company AAA is involved in this gigantic show, Ahmed Johnson and Faarooq get their hands on one another, and much more. Episode 130: NWA Starrcade ’87: Chi-Town Heat

One of the taglines for this event was, "Glory Bound." There was nothing glorious about this one as Dusty Rhodes tries to out-shine the main event cage match by going for the United States Title in a cage right before it. Ron Garvin was also the defending World Champion, and he couldn't draw flies if he was rolled in cow crap. The Rock 'n' Roll Express vs. Midnight Express match should have been great, but it was put on a stupid scaffold. Terry Taylor had to do some heavy lifting in the TV Title match against Nikita Koloff. "Dr. Death" Steve Williams and Barry Windham even stunk up the joint with a fairly boring encounter for the UWF World Title. The Road Warriors, in their kayfabe hometown, also get screwed by an infamous Dusty Finish that pretty much kills Chicago for JCP forever. Two other "major" things happened on this show, as Bill Watts' UWF was recently bought out by Jim Crockett and they combined as The Wrestling Network (TWN) and had multiple Title Unification matches on this show. Also, this was the first year that the WWF ran Survivor Series and put it on free TV to go against Starrcade on pay-per-view. Because of that, starting in 1988, Starrcade was moved to December. Episode 126: WCW World War 3 1995 (60 Men, 3 Giants, 3 Rings)

Trying to out do the WWF's Royal Rumble, WCW had 3 rings, 60 men, and 3 giants. This certainly was a spectacle that was something to behold. Most of the rest of the show was actually one of the better shows of all of 1995, having Ric Flair vs. Sting, Johnny B. Badd vs. DDP, an awesome Joshi tag match, and Chris Benoit vs. Kensuki Sasaki for the US Title. Of course, it was 1995, so we also had to sit through Big Bubba Rogers vs. "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan in a Taped Fists match and a bad match between Lex Luger and "Macho Man" Randy Savage. We also had a babyface Hulk Hogan being a huge heel on this show by cutting an entire promo lying to the fans about Savage's injury, trashing a dirt sheet, and then at the end of the showing, crying and whining because he didn't win. 1995 was weird. In the news, we talk about a new wrinkle in the WWF Steroid Trial, the WWF getting edgier, Sabu having to pay to find out he was fired, and an MMA show being booted from New York City only to hold it at a secret venue with a secret crowd...and it sucked. Episode 125: TNA Bound for Glory 2005 (The 1st BFG)

The very first ever TNA Bound for Glory took place in 2005 and even though it was dubbed as the company's biggest show of the year, not everything was a hit. One major miss was putting Jeff Jarrett against Kevin Nash in the main event. Jeff Jarrett just screwed Raven out of the World Title and Raven was kept away from the main event. Meanwhile, Kevin Nash got legitimately sent to the hospital, leaving Jarrett without an opponent. That lead to this becoming the night of...Rhino...for whatever reason. Also on this card, the Ultimate X match plays host to a pretty bad botch. Samoa Joe has a pretty good match with Jushin Thunder Liger. AMW defends the NWA Tag Titles against the Naturals...again. There's a fairly entertaining Monster's Ball. We also get the return of a legendary tag-team. In the news, a Midwest wrestling legend has passed away, Jim Ross may be gone from the WWE as the McMahons make an offer to a possible replacement, Team 3D isn't pleased about losing a trademark battle, and Ken Shamrock continues his MMA downfall. This was a show after SummerSlam to get to a show to then get to Survivor Series. And even though this was sort of viewed as a "transition/throw away" show, it brought the goods. Not everything on this card was great, but there was enough good stuff here to keep the Marks interested. In turn, the Marks are bringing enough entertainment on this podcast to keep YOU interested. This was also the first 3-hour In Your House show. Stone Cold is still recovering from injury, so even though he's on all the promotional material, he doesn't wrestle here.
