A small plane crashed in upstate New York, killing all six people on board, officials said, coming just days after a helicopter plummeted into the Hudson River.

The Mitsubishi MU-2B was headed to Columbia County Airport in Hudson, New York, when it crashed into an open field near Copake, a small town located about 20 miles southeast of the airport, around 12:15 p.m. local time on April 12, the Federal Aviation Administration said in a statement.

The aircraft went down on Two Town Road near Copake and did not damage any structures, Undersheriff Jacqueline Salvatore said at a news conference.

According to the U.S. Geological Survey, a preliminary 5.2-magnitude earthquake struck San Diego County on Monday morning. The quake was felt across Southern California, including Los Angeles.

The earthquake was reported at 10:08 a.m., with an epicenter about 2.5 miles from Julian in San Diego County and a depth of about 8 miles.

It was initially reported as a 6.0-magnitude quake before it was downgraded to a 5.2.

The earthquake was felt across San Diego and several areas in Los Angeles, Riverside, and San Bernardino counties, including Seal Beach, Claremont, Rancho Cucamonga, Pasadena, Riverside, Temecula, Long Beach, Downey, and Monterey Park.

An executive for U.S. Bank is believed to be the only person on board the plane that crashed into a Brooklyn Park home on Saturday.

A representative with the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) said that preliminary information shows one person was on the plane.

U.S. Bank shared a statement saying they believe Vice Chair and Chief Administration Officer Terry Dolan died in the crash.

The full statement says, "We are aware of reports that the plane that crashed in Brooklyn Park was registered to Terry Dolan, our vice chair and chief administration officer. At this time, we are unable to confirm whether he was on board, but we believe he was. Our thoughts and prayers are with him, his family and friends, and anyone who may have been affected by yesterday’s tragic incident. We are grateful that there were not any injuries to residents of the home that was impacted by the crash, and we thank all the first responders who have provided service."

Harvard undergraduate tuition will be free for students from families making $200,000 or less, starting next fall, the university announced Monday in its latest effort to provide an Ivy League education to those who might otherwise be priced out.

Attending Harvard will be free for students from families making $100,000 or less. The university will also cover housing, health insurance, and travel costs between campus and home.

Undergraduate tuition at Harvard College was more than $56,000 this year, while the total cost of attendance was almost $83,000, according to the institution’s financial aid website. (Harvard College is the university's undergraduate institution.)

The announcement builds on the Harvard Financial Aid Initiative, which was launched in 2004 to make college affordable for people of all economic backgrounds. Since its inception, the initiative has raised its income threshold several times, and currently, students from families with incomes under $85,000 attend Harvard for free.

According to damage surveys from the National Weather Service, at least five tornadoes touched down in Louisiana, Mississippi, and Arkansas yesterday. 

One tornado hit around 12:15 p.m. near Kentwood, Louisiana, with a preliminary rating of EF3, meaning 3-second gusts of 136 to 165 mph, it said. Another touched down around 1:15 p.m. near Tylertown, Mississippi, and had a rating of EF2, or gusts of 111 to 135 mph. Over 380,000 utility customers were without power across the East Coast.
