New 'Raid on Graymalkin' Crossover Pits X-Man Against X-Man for the Future of Professor X's Dream

'Raid on Graymalkin,' a 4-part crossover between Jed MacKay and Ryan Stegman’s 'X-Men' and Gail Simone and David Marquez’s 'Uncanny X-Men,' begins this December.

The X-Men’s new era is fully underway, and starting this December, fans will experience an epic crossover between two of its three flagship titles in "Raid on Graymalkin!"
Left broken and scattered in the wake of Krakoa, the X-Men have since regrouped into distinct teams of their own. In Jed MacKay and Ryan Stegman’s X-MEN, Cyclops leads a squad of hardened mutant soldiers out of an abandoned Sentinel factory in Alaska. While in Gail Simone and David Marquez’s UNCANNY X-MEN, Rogue attempts to build a new home with her chosen X-family along with a handful of new students down in Louisiana. Their different approaches to the X-Men’s mission erupt into a tense standoff when a plan of action is needed to take down Graymalkin Prison, formerly Xavier’s Institute.

This January, mutant icon Magik headlines her first ongoing solo series! The X-Men’s resident sorcerer will unleash her Soulsword, spells, and dark side against mystical threats targeting the mutant community.
 
Rising star Ashley Allen, who wrote the character earlier this year in X-MEN: BLOOD HUNT—MAGIK, will write the script. The character will be drawn by acclaimed artist Germán Peralta, known for his recent work on BLACK PANTHER and last year’s LOKI series.
From Colossus’ kid sister to New Mutant, Illyana Rasputina has climbed the ranks over the years to become the fiercest X-Man of them all, and her long overdue solo adventures will see her tap into her mystical expertise and unique mutant magic like never before.
The mystic mutant goes demon hunting in her own series! The X-Man Illyanna Rasputina strikes out on her own with new allies and dark powers arrayed against her. Something ancient has awakened beneath the Alaskan ice. Unfortunately for it, that’s Magik’s territory now!
Throughout the series, Magik will also be forced to come to terms with her tragic history and learn to control her demonic Darkchylde persona. After years of suppression, Illyana’s Darkchylde form returns from the depths of her tormented soul to offer her more strength and power, but at what cost?

My Adventures with Superman has been a critical success, which is why they have Season 2 greenlit and production already in the works; speaking of Superman, the upcoming James Gunn feature has officially cast their Superman/Clark Kent and Lois Lane with David Corenswet and Rachel Brosnahan respectively, along with some additional castings that will be covered in a future video after Episode 75. All I can say is good luck to the new Superman and Ace Reporter! On the topic of James Gunn, he had to assure fans that the release of the final season of Doom Patrol would see the light of day despite WBD’s multiple canceling of projects.

EA, with team members that developed Shadow of Mordor, announced a Black Panther video game to be in development! Deadpool 3 continues to expand its casting, with it seemingly turning into a significant reunion of the many Marvel FOX Era cast ranging from X-Men, Fantastic Four, and Daredevil as Jennifer Garner returns as Elektra with a rumored Cassandra Nova serving as the main villain in what is slowly looking like a ‘Deadpool kills The Marvel Universe’ adaption.

Lastly, after weeks of contention and stunning revelations, Xbox has defeated The FTC in their attempted Injunction to stop the Activision-Blizzard deal from being finalized and FTC’s appeal also being denied, causing the agreement to evolve from an IF to a WHEN. Amazon’s New World is switching to a seasonal model, and free/premium battle passes as the MMORPG tries to find an audience. David Harbour, one of the main casts of Stranger Things, is ready for the series to end after the fifth season, while Jon Favreau reveals he has already completed the scripts for Season 4 before Season 3 premieres March 1st! Elon Musk continues butchering Twitter by restricting the 2-Factor Authentication system behind the Twitter blue paywall…what the hell?! The Marvels, following the continuing adventures of Captain Marvel, Ms. Marvel, and Monica, releases a new poster and reveals a release date delay to November 2023, while Loki Season 2 and Secret Invasion are planned to be the only MCU Disney+ Content released this, now if only Star Wars D+ Shows did that, we wouldn’t have to have Qui-Gon Jinn actor, Liam Neeson, make understandable points regarding the Star Wars influx of content in rapid succession.

I Am Legend 2 will take place some decades after the events of the first film, more specifically, the original alternate ending where Will Smith’s character lives, along with interesting perspectives regarding the events of the film. And finally, on the comic book side of things, Marvel announces THREE comic book events for the Summer of 2023, a Star Wars Comic Crossover event with a teased ‘First, it comes for the metal’ tagline, while an official next summer blockbuster comic event set in the main Marvel Universe titled Contest of Chaos is made official with another surprising crossover 4-Issue Miniseries crossing over Marvel Earth-616, and the returning Earth-1610, famously known as The Ultimate Marvel Universe, with superstar writer and artist, Jonathan Hickman and Bryan Hitch in a crossover called Ultimate Invasion! And Lastly, DC Comics announces the worst-kept secret event comic for their Dawn of DC relaunch, Knight Terrors, written by Dark Crisis event writer Joshua Williamson and a slew of artists such as Howard Porter, Guillem March, and more. MINISERIES PREMIERE! The world’s most evil comic book is back! Who is Nemesis, and why does this eccentric billionaire who dresses up in a mask and cape want to terrorize people instead of helping them? Isn’t that how this is supposed to go? Trigger warning: Too violent and too cool for some!

INTRODUCTION BY MARK MILLAR

It feels weird to reboot one of your own projects, but kind of nice too. Historicall, pop culture icons get a facelift every fifteen ears or so as the Tim Burton era Batman gets replaced by Chris Nolan's Dark Knight or Daniel Craig makes way for Henry Cavill or the mighty Aaron Taylor-Johnson. Politics tends to move in these big ten-to-fifteen-year swings too, as the White House turns red or blue for half a generation, and comics likewise ebb and flow with new takes on old ideas. Nemesis was a book I created with the brilliant Canadian artist Steve McNiven. All my favorite Americans turn out to be Canadian and Steve is no exception! We brought this book out thirteen ears ago, right in the middle of Kick-Ass mania, and it sold GANG-BUSTERS. It was only four issues long, but I think I've signed as many of these as I've signed mv other evergreens like Old Man Logan, Kick-Ass, Superman: Red Son and Civil War. 

You can watch fan films online and if vou do a Google, you'll see homemade toys guys have beautifully painted and splattered with fake blood. 20th Century Fox bought the movie rights, first for the legendary Tony Scott and then for the great Joe Carnahan. Once those lapsed it was snapped up by Warner Brothers and it's been written and rewritten over there for years. What's the fascination with this project? How did Steve and I make more monev from this concept than we did from even Civil War, Marvel's biggest selling graphic novel of all time? It was literally just four issues. There's also so man things I'd do differently now, and this is the curse of being a published writer. Once vour project is out there, there's nothing you can do, right? Well, that's the beauty of the soft reboot. Superman was very different by the mid 50s than his Golden Age roots, that new take on the character flipped again in 1971 and John Byrne's revamp in 1986.

This was my chance to bring Nemesis into a new age and tweak the origin, so I had more room to play than the original four issues, and also integrate him into this Millarworld universe we've put together, leading directly into the huge series we're doing in July. Big Game is where every one of our characters cross over in a spectacular summer event drawn by Marvel refugee Pepe Larraz. It's going to be spectacular, and I couldn't miss a chance to do the most perfect version of this concept I love and have the character interacting with all my other favorites. The whole experience has been incredibly satisfying, and I couldn't have asked for a better partner than DC's greatest artist; the brilliant, brilliant Jorge Jimenez. So, enjoy NEMESIS RELOADED and wait until you see where this book, Night Club, The Magic Order Volume 4 and our new The Ambassadors take vou. I promise it's going to be the best money you've ever slipped me.

Marvel also shifts plans for the Armor Wars Disney+ series to become a full-length film released in theaters as WarnerBros. Discovery shocks the entertainment world with good news and their full support in the Blue Beetle Movie! The alleged 17-Year-Old GTA 6 Hacker has pled Not Guilty to the crimes they've been accused of and awaits trial. With the announcement of Hugh Jackman's Wolverine returning, Elizabeth Olsen, MCU's Scarlet Witch, spoke in an interview about how she would want her character to team up with the X-Men in a future film. And lastly, Google Stadia, the maligned cloud gaming streaming service, has announced plans to wind down and eventually discontinue entirely in January of 2023, offering full refunds to consumers of the service. House of the Dragon is an American fantasy drama television series that is a prequel to the television series Game of Thrones (2011–2019), both based on the A Song of Ice and Fire novels by George R. R. Martin. The prequel series was created by Martin and Ryan Condal for HBO and is based on portions of Fire & Blood. Condal and Miguel Sapochnik are showrunners for House of the Dragon. Set about 200 years before the events of Game of Thrones, the series chronicles the beginning of the end of House Targaryen, the events leading up to and covering the Targaryen war of succession, known as the "Dance of the Dragons".

Season One, Episode One: The Heirs of the Dragon:

In the last years of the reign of Jaehaerys Targaryen, the Old King, tragedies took the lives of his two eldest sons, Princes Aemon and Baelon, leaving the question of succession open. Faced with this situation, the king convened a Great Council where all the lords of Westeros would choose their future ruler. Two of Jaehaerys' grandchildren were candidates for succession, Princess Rhaenys Targaryen, wife of Lord Corlys Velaryon, the richest man at the time, and Prince Viserys Targaryen, Rhaenys' younger cousin and husband of Lady Aemma Arryn. 

By Westerosi law, a male descendant always comes ahead of a female descendant, causing Rhaenys to lose even though she was the oldest descendant of the king. Nine years later, King Viserys I reigns under the threat of the Triarchy, an alliance made by the free cities of Essos to obtain the region of Stepstones. In addition, Viserys has to deal with his brother Daemon Targaryen's misbehavior for practicing brutality against criminals in King's Landing in command of the City Watch. Queen Aemma dies during childbirth along with her newborn son, who would be Viserys' heir. The Queen's death occurred during the tournament held for the Prince's birth, where Ser Criston Cole defeated Daemon. 

The Hand of the King, Ser Otto Hightower, suggests that Viserys name his only living child, the young princess Rhaenyra, as heir to the Iron Throne instead of Daemon. After a falling out with Daemon, Viserys officially names his daughter Rhaenyra the Princess of Dragonstone and has several lords swear allegiance to her.

The Season Two Finale!

Hello and Welcome to Neo-Reality Collective | Pop-Culture News and Reviews Talk, Hosted by Eric Brown! And boy, hard to believe we've made it this far, and this episode might be the biggest yet since Episode 3's THREE HOUR talk (Looking back, that should've been broken up into three episodes). It features Dwayne Johnson Black Adam drama from a revelation The Rock has made regarding Shazam, a sudden explosive take on Disney Star Wars in the wake of the announcements of Star Wars: Hidden Empire and Star Wars: Revelations in their comic book universe, and further dramas in regards to Ezra Miller and Their Future and The WarnerBros. Discovery Merger Aftereffects (We can't seem to escape all the drama going on over there.)

The CW Network is set to be bought outright. Still, WBD pledges the continuation of Scripted Content on the platform despite cutting 200 Episodes of Sesame Street, Infinity Train, and 30+ Other shows from HBO MAX, which ruffled feathers in the community outside of a growing movement to demand the release of HBO MAX's Batgirl after filming was complete, music was scored, and all that remained was the editing process. Avatar: The Last Airbender seems to be getting a console game soon, while The New Tales of The Borderlands also has a leaked release date in October. Unity rejects a 17.5 BILLION DOLLAR Takeover offer to remain their status quo as The Embracer Group acquires Middle-Earth Enterprises and the video game and movie rights to the whole of Lord of The Rings and The Hobbit as we learn an Iron Man Open World Game was in the works from the creators of Just Cause before Disney and Marvel canned in 2012.

The Knights of The Old Republic Remake looked to be in trouble back in July but now seems to have been moved around in The Embracer Group to Saber Interactive from Aspyr. DC Comics, meanwhile, travels back to the 90s with new WildCATS Ongoing and a second Spawn/Batman Crossover and begins a New Golden Age with Geoff Johns at the helm of a new Justice Society of America ongoing and Stargirl: The Lost Children Miniseries. Final Fantasy Director discusses the franchise is currently struggling despite the breadth of content coming out over the next two years alone, such as FF7R Rebirth, Crisis Core, FF16, and expansions in Moblie and PC Gaming. And Streaming in The United States has overtaken Cable/Broadcast Television for the first time ever in the long history of Neilson.

It's been a wild ride here on Neo-Reality Collective, and it doesn't seem to be stopping anytime soon; with 50 Episodes in the can, we look forward to coming back with Season Three, but in the meantime, we'll be back doing bonus reviews for Event Comics A.X.E.: Judgement Day and Dark Crisis on Infinite Earths along with HBO's House of The Dragon. The Batman is a 2022 American superhero film based on the DC Comics character Batman. Produced by Warner Bros. Pictures, DC Films, 6th & Idaho, and Dylan Clark Productions, and distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures, it is a reboot of the Batman film franchise. The film was directed by Matt Reeves, who wrote the screenplay with Peter Craig. It stars Robert Pattinson as Bruce Wayne / Batman alongside Zoë Kravitz, Paul Dano, Jeffrey Wright, John Turturro, Peter Sarsgaard, Andy Serkis, and Colin Farrell. The film sees Batman, who has been fighting crime in Gotham City for two years, uncover corruption while pursuing the Riddler (Dano), a serial killer who targets Gotham's elite.  Development began after Ben Affleck was cast as Batman in the DC Extended Universe (DCEU) in 2013. Affleck signed on to direct, produce, co-write, and star in The Batman, but had reservations about the project and dropped out. Reeves took over and reworked the story, removing the DCEU connections. He sought to explore Batman's detective side more than previous films, drawing inspiration from the films of Alfred Hitchcock and the New Hollywood era, and comics such as "Year One" (1987), The Long Halloween (1996–97), and Ego (2000). Pattinson was cast in May 2019, with further casting in late 2019. Principal photography took place in the UK and Chicago between January 2020 and March 2021.  The Batman premiered at Lincoln Center in New York on March 1, 2022, and was theatrically released worldwide on March 4. It was delayed twice from an initial June 2021 release date due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The film received praise for the performances, cinematography, Reeves' direction, action sequences, and story, though some criticized its runtime. It is intended to launch a Batman shared universe, with two sequels planned and two spin-off television series in development for HBO Max.

Secrets of The Past

No outlaw has evaded justice more than WILSON FISK, formerly the kingpin of a  vast criminal empire, and now the duly elected mayor of New York. Professor X, Magneto and Moira MacTaggert banded together, using Moira's knowledge from past lives that she had lived (thanks to her mutant ability of reincarnation) to build the mutant nation of Krakoa. To secure the new mutant age, Professor X and Magneto hid Moira away -- but now, as the trust between Krakoa's founders' fractures, the truth of Moira's existence is revealed to her enemies, Mystique, and Destiny.

Boba Fett and Fennec Shand attempt to make a name for themselves in the galaxy's underworld by taking over the territory once controlled by Jabba the Hutt.

The Book of Boba Fett is an American television series created for the streaming service Disney+. It is part of the Star Wars franchise, a spin-off from the series The Mandalorian featuring the bounty hunter Boba Fett from that series and other Star Wars media. The series takes place alongside The Mandalorian and Ahsoka.

Temuera Morrison stars as Boba Fett, with Ming-Na Wen also starring as Fennec Shand. Both reprise their roles from The Mandalorian and other previous Star Wars media. Several attempts were made at developing a standalone Star Wars film centered on Boba Fett before Lucasfilm began prioritizing its streaming series such as The Mandalorian. Morrison appeared as Fett alongside Wen in the second season of The Mandalorian, and a potential spin-off series was first reported in November 2020. The Book of Boba Fett was officially announced in December 2020, with Morrison and Wen starring.

The Scarlet Witch has been killed -- or has she?

Confusion descended among the X-Men and Avengers, who had arrived on Krakoa to recover their fallen comrade and loved one, when the Scarlet Witch suddenly appeared seemingly alive and well.

Before the X-Men or Avengers could discover the truth behind Wanda's mysterious resurrection, several monsters appeared, manifested from Wanda's conflicting feelings and chaos magic, and attacked Krakoa. The Avengers and X-Men held their ground, but it wasn't until Wanda manifested her past and future selves that they were able to dispel the creatures.

NIMROD STRIKES!

Krakoa's troubles don't attack one at a time. Jonathan Hickman reunites with his POWERS OF X collaborator R.B. Silva for the penultimate chapter of his X-Swan Song.

Together, Professor X, Magneto and Moira MacTaggert banded together, using Moira's knowledge from past lives that she had lived (thanks to her mutant ability of reincarnation) to build the mutant nation of Krakoa.

To secure the new mutant age, Moira was hidden away, and Professor X and Magneto have hidden her existence from everyone. But now, with the recent resurrection of Destiny and the threat she poses to Krakoa, Moira's existence has been revealed to Emma Frost and the bonds of trust that helped form this mutant society have begun to erode. Meanwhile, the anti-mutant organization known as O.R.C.H.I.S, spearheaded by the A.l. organisms Omega Sentinel and Nimrod, stands more unified than ever ready to exploit any sign of cracks in Krakoa's foundation.

The Game Awards 2021 was an award show that honored the best video games of 2021. The event was hosted by Geoff Keighley, creator, and producer of The Game Awards, and was held to an invited audience at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on December 9, 2021. Sydnee Goodman hosted the preshow ceremony. The event was live-streamed across more than 40 digital platforms. It featured musical performances from Imagine Dragons, JID, Darren Korb, Sting, and presentations from celebrity guests including Reggie Fils-Aimé, Keanu Reeves, Ben Schwartz, and Ming-Na Wen.

Deathloop led the show with nine nominations; it won Best Game Direction and Best Art Direction. Forza Horizon 5 and It Takes Two tied for the most wins with three awards, and the latter also won Game of the Year. Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy was awarded Best Narrative, and Maggie Robertson won Best Performance for her role as Lady Dimitrescu in Resident Evil Village. Several new games were announced during the show, including Alan Wake II, The Expanse: A Telltale Series, Sonic Frontiers, and the first full trailers for Halo and Sonic the Hedgehog 2 premiered. The ceremony received a mixed reception from media publications, with some praise directed at new game announcements and criticism for the show's length and focus on announcements over awards.

STORY

At WrestleMania 37 in April, Roman Reigns defeated Edge and Daniel Bryan in a triple threat match to retain the Universal Championship. On the June 25 episode of SmackDown, Reigns and his special counsel Paul Heyman had a Universal Championship address. Heyman stated that Reigns had defeated all of SmackDown's top contenders and that there was no one left to challenge Reigns. Edge then made a surprise return after a two-month hiatus and attacked Reigns and also took out Jimmy Uso, who had come to Reigns' aid. On Talking Smack the next day, it was revealed that Edge had confronted WWE officials Adam Pearce and Sonya Deville and demanded a one-on-one match against Reigns for the title at Money in the Bank, which he was originally supposed to have at WrestleMania before Bryan worked his way into the match. Pearce then granted him the match.

Not only that but rumors of a certain WWE Megastar is on sight to fight Roman Reigns in the next big chapter in The Tribal Chief Epic at SummerSlam as Roman Reigns will make it to a near year-long reign as WWE Universal Champion.

He took that first step; one week ago “Hangman” Adam Page took that first step in facing down the fears that The Dark Order laid out before the world a week prior to that. It's not fear of Kenny Omega, it's not fear of The Elite, but rather fear of failure at the highest level that eats at him. It is the fear of repeating the past and failing to capture the AEW World Title as he did in 2019 at the very first ALL OUT when he and Chris Jericho squared off to become the first. It's the fear of coming up short should Adam actually hold onto this number one spot in the rankings and be slated as the next challenger for Kenny Omega and that championship.

But last Wednesday night, Page did something that he has not done since November when Omega beat him at FULL GEAR 2020 in the World Title Eliminator Tournament Finals, something he has gone out of his way to avoid doing, Adam actually looked his former World Tag Team Championship partner in the eyes. He did not back down or turn away, Hangman did the one thing his friends in The Dark Order encouraged him to do, he faced his fears, and guess what? It wasn't Hangman who blinked, it was the AEW World Champion who bailed, and that leaves the question of if Omega, who so callously disregarded Page back in November, now finds himself scared of his former championship partner?

On Wednesday night, Hangman will join FYTER FEST 2021: NIGHT ONE to share what's going on in his head following this confrontation, and wherever he may be in the arena, no doubt Kenny Omega will be all ears for this one!

Don Callis did everything in his power to keep Sami Callihan away from IMPACT World Champion Kenny Omega, including firing him at Against All Odds! Malakai Black, the former Aleister Black, debuted for All Elite Wrestling on Wednesday night, attacking Arn Anderson and Cody Rhodes on the special "Road Rager" episode in Miami.

Black had been released from WWE on Wednesday, June 2, 35 days ago. While stories emerged that some recently-released talents were trying to bargain their way out of their non-compete clauses, there appears to be an interesting story as to how Black got out of his.

Though Black had been on WWE's main roster since early 2019, there seems to have been an error in his contract. Whereas a released main roster talent has a 90-day non-compete period, released NXT talents only have a 30-day non-compete.

According to Mike Johnson of PWInsider, Black's contract was never properly "upgraded" upon coming to the main roster in 2019. This means that his non-compete period lapsed after 30 days instead of what should have been 90.

Johnson wrote, "PWInsider.com is told that back when Tommy End was moved to the main WWE roster several years ago, the company failed to update his contract from the standard 30 day non-compete that NXT level talents receive to the 90 day non-compete that main roster performers are given. So, what can only be described as a bad clerical error allowed End to be free and clear in time for the first episode of AEW Dynamite on the road and surprise everyone."
