For the second segment of the podcast starting at the 24 minute mark they were joined by Locked On Guardians Jeff Ellis to talk about the MLB Draft. They discussed overall thoughts on the class, college & prep bats and arm strengths, and who we could expect to fly off the board to the Sox and the thoughts on what the Guardians will do.  They also got a possible trade idea for the White Sox and Guardians.

They then welcomed Tyler Jennings for the 2nd segment of the show.  They discussed the overall draft strength; depth, and the demographic strengths. They discussed who the Nationals may take at 1 and who Tyler would take at that position in the draft before closing out that draft talk with who Tyler expects the White Sox to take at 10.

They discuss the Cubs reluctance to spend on Bullpen pieces and star players in the offseason and what the results of that has been. They also talk Cubs SP and hitting successes paired with some standout performances from players such as Kyle Tucker and Pete Crow-Armstrong.

The gents go through the rotation, hitting all the big points - all returning arms, the step up from all guys from previous years, and Tanner McDougal is still nasty. The pen has shown some ebbs and flows early, but there are some good arms coming through Winston. 

Versatility is a mainstay in the Winston position player group, and Andrew breaks down all of the guys in the lineup. Pat Leyland has a lot of useful guys, and they run through them all.

On the last installment of the FutureSox Podcast AL Central Previews, Ian Eskridge and James Fox welcome Just Baseball's Jared Perkins to talk Kansas City Royals. First on the agenda is assessing the Royals offseason and whether it was enough to get them to the next step. Jared explained what the expectations are for the Royals and what will win or lose them the division.

They moved to talking Royals prospect Jac Caglianone's prospective move to MLB at some point and the joys of watching Bobby Witt Jr. on a daily basis. Jared also broke down the front office and organizational moves to bring in other dev staff.

They finished off the talks with 2025 draft prospects, both prep and college. He runs through a bunch of Just Baseball's top 200 draft prospects and Ian and James discuss what they are looking for the White Sox to do.

With this being the 2025 AL Central preview for the White Sox Connor covered a lot of different topics with Ian and James including: Will Venable's first spring training as a manager, the next man-up version of the 2025 rotation, and the surprises that could creep up in the bullpen.

Moving to the offensive side of the ball Luis Robert's trade is a topic of interest as is Miguel Vargas' morphing into an offensive weapon at 3B. Connor also took aim at when the fans will take notice of Ryan Fuller's effect on the White Sox offense and farm system.

Connor discussed his broadcast of the White Sox first Spring Breakout with broadcast partner Brooke Fletcher, having such guests as GM Chris Getz, Gene Watson, and Paul Janish. while watching all of the White Sox top prospects as they matched up against Rockies studs. McKnight also teased how CHSN is going to cover the White Sox prospects.

They moved on to 2 positive stories which included Sean Burke being named Opening Day starter and Shane Smith being informed that he has indeed made the 26 man roster. Another topic covered was the announcement today that there is a possibility that Noah Schultz, Hagen Smith, and Grant Taylor could all be starting for the Birmingham Barons out of the gate this season.

The second half of the show is the Cleveland Guardians AL Central preview show featuring Justin Lada of Locked On Guardians. He ran Ian and James through their offseason, what their path to winning and losing the division would look like, and Bazzana, DeLauter, and the Guards farm.

After getting the rundown on the financial situation in MN, Dan ran through what the Twins expectations are for 2025. What will the Twins have to do to win the AL Central and how they could lose it? He also breaks down what is down in the minors.  A great conversation.

They start by talking about hitters who impressed in MLB camp in addition to the prospects they were able to watch and check-in with while there. Then, they discuss the outlook of the pitching staff in Chicago as well as the big three pitching prospects and other arms of note. They wrap by talking about the overall pitching development within the organization.

They also talk about some big developments in injuries on the White Sox farm and MLB. They finished with the most recent segment of Jimmy Hoax, highlighting James Fox prospect tweets from years past. 

They continued White Sox talk on spring training, big performances, and some roster questions. They pondered the difference of analytic data and the new management team on the performances happening in AZ. Ian and James finished out the stream with MLB injuries and new signings.

They also talk about the results coming from AZ and of course they run through chat questions.

On the newest episode of the FutureSox Podcast Ian Eskridge and James Fox discuss the White Sox known International signings breaking down the White Sox changes to their Int'l philosophy.

They then moved on to the White Sox acquisitions of Tyler Gilbert and Josh Rojas plus what is going on with the bullpen pieces possibly headed to Chicago after spring training.

They moved on to the 40 man roster and what they expect for assignments and who will stick around for the MLB club. They also discussed trade rumors involving Luis Robert Jr. and the Dodgers along with the Bryse Wilson signing.

James Fox worked through what roster decisions are coming for the Sox and what he expects to see done. They moved on to the recent rumored candidates for manager of the White Sox in 2025. Who is the play? All three sound off on what the positives and negatives are for the candidates and who they ultimately think will end up in the dugout. Will they be able to grab multiple candidates to fill the vacancies in the dugout and coaching staff or will they let their manager choose his coaching staff?

They came down the stretch of the show answering the questions: what does a successful 2025 look like for the organization and what is the expected timeline and events for the 2025 offseason? Beefloaf runs through his thoughts on the topics from several different viewpoints to give some answers.

On the latest episode of the FutureSox Podcast Ian Eskridge and James Fox welcomed Chris Welsh of The Prospect One Podcast and Fantasy Pros. Nobody watches more Arizona Fall League, Spring Training, Complex and Bridge League than The Welsh. You've probably seen his prospect videos on his profile at @IsItTheWelsh on X.com. He took some time to bestow some of his knowledge on us. He "sells" us the AFL and tells us what is unique about it, and how great of an experience it is.

The Welsh ran through a lot of the bigger prospects that are playing there this year before getting into the White Sox side of things and who he's been watching. He also runs through his thoughts on the bridge league in general before running through Sox prospects like Hagen Smith, Caleb Bonemer, Nick McLain and Javier Mogollon. Chris also gave his thoughts on George Wolkow, Noah Schultz and sleepers in the Sox system before closing out. A lot of great information to take in.

They moved to the AFL preview and some talk on some of the guys that will represent the White Sox in Glendale before moving to the International Scouting situation. The White Sox have fired scouts in the Dominican, Venezuela, Mexico, and Panama. Looks like a complete restructuring of the scouting system as had been suggested. They finished up the episode with a quick run through of the recent MLB Trade Rumors suggested arbitration numbers and who they cut or keep.

A fun episode tonight with a lot of chat interaction.

First, they go through the playoffs game-by-game to discuss all the biggest moments and players that excelled in the spotlight of the MiLB postseason. Then, they look back at the loaded Barons roster from the first half of the season and the players that stood out in that portion of the year. They wrapped up by breaking down players who could take another step forward in 2025 and what the future holds for the White Sox.

They moved on to the news that came out today that Hagen Smith is being assigned to Winston-Salem this week as they are in Aberdeen facing the Orioles High A club. They go through the videos that were posted from the bridge league of his disgusting slider and newly audited change up.

They close the pod with rumors going around that Chris Getz is looking to revamp the Int'l scouting department and how this could change the perception of the White Sox front office.

Cannon breaks down his arsenal adjustments and how has shifted his sequencing since being recalled in June after a month spent developing back in Charlotte. He explains the key changes that allowed him to really thrive in his first few games back. He also gets into the coaching shifts and changes within the clubhouse as well as other aspects of becoming a MLB player this year.

They wind down the episode with a flashback to the Field of Dreams game on it's anniversary. Tim and the White Sox looked to be on the road to being a perennial contender, and it quickly derailed.

They discuss what levels the new draftees are at, and how the White Sox process goes through the levels. Also the discuss the hiring process for a new manager, but more importantly for the org, the hiring of a hitting czar. Who will it be? What needs to happen? The vibes of the boys must have flowed through the national airwaves, because Jonathan Cannon and the boys broke the streak on Tuesday at 21 games.

They continue down the levels as they break down Noah Schultz dominant start this past weekend and bullpen pieces on the way to Chicago soon. Then, they dish on the lower levels starting with Aldrin Batista's promotion to High-A, William Bergolla and Jeral Perez joining the organization, and tons of 2024 draft picks set to debut this week in Single-A this week.

They also take a look at recent managerial rumors, some thoughts about some of the incumbent prospects, and who will play for the rest of the year.

They then turned their focus on the White Sox losing streak which now sits at 16 games. They chop up Pedro's supposed rah-rah speech placing all the blame on the players and the veteran revolt that possibly ensued. They finish up with a little chat about AJ Pierzynski possibly being a candidate for the manager position going forward in 2025.

First, 7th round pick Phil Fox joins Elijah as he details his journey from a small university to emerging as a legit prospect this spring at Pitt. He talks his draft experience and adjusting to pro ball before diving into his pitching. He explains his unique fastball that he threw 90% of the time during his college season as well developing a splitter this summer. He also details his summer ball experience, goals, hobbies, and more!

Next, 13th round pick Pierce George hops on with Elijah to discuss his fascinating journey. He shares his draft experience that didn't go exactly how he expected but worked out well for him. He dives into his 100+ mph fastball and his path to realizing how impressive his stuff can be. He further explains his mentality on the mound, goals for the rest of the year, and more!

Within minutes of the stream being over Hagen Smith was given 8M and Nick McLain signed with the Sox for 800k. Everyone has signed except Myles Bailey who was never going to sign.

On the second half of part 1 they welcomed their FutureSox cohort and contributor to Just Baseball, Elijah Evans, to react to the White Sox first pick and go over some of the surprises in round 1.

He breaks down what he thinks the Guardians will do at 1 overall, and what they plan on doing with their bonus pool in the picks following. They then walk through what to expect from the other AL Central teams.

Ian and James also talked Future Stars game with Colson Montgomery and Noah Schultz being named this week. They also moved to the org promotions of Brooks Baldwin and Edgar Quero, and possibly what some of the reasons for moving them might have been. They also talk about the promotion of Tommy Vail to Winston-Salem with Peyton Pallette in the piggyback role, and the corresponding moves of Enrico Brizuela and Patrick Maybach.

They finish up the pod addressing the George Wolkow explosion in the last 2 weeks, who Tommy Vail is, and finally come to a close talking Lenyn Sosa's turnaround in his recent call up.

They close with what George Wolkow's draft expectations could have been if he had not reclassified, and the FutureSox Podcast goes to task on finding a deal for Joe's Mariners with White Sox players.

On the 2nd piece of the podcast, BA's Peter Flaherty joins for an in-depth MLB Draft preview as he talks about the entire draft from a White Sox perspective. He goes through the possibilities for the first four picks prior to the Sox and then all of the options at number five for Chicago. He then provides plenty of names who could be worth monitoring in the second and third rounds as well as some later round sleepers. He wraps by giving his take on the future direction of the White Sox.

They recap the BA MLB Mock Draft 4.0 and who the Guardians will take 1.1 and who he would take at 1.1 if money were no object.  They get around to who Carlos thinks will be available for the White Sox and who the Sox should take at #5.

Prep pitching is rumored to the Sox with the 43rd and 68th pick in the draft, so they go through a few of the names that will be available before moving to Carlos's feelings on the new anti-tank draft rules and how he feels about the rookie league ending in July, and the draft also being in mid July.

The pod also steers towards the MLB draft. Is Cags what the White Sox are going to do with pick #5? Who would James and Ian like to see? Who will the Sox take in the 2nd and their supplemental?  James has some insight. We'll see what the Sox do.

On this special episode of the FutureSox Podcast Ian Eskridge and James Fox welcome Tyler Jennings of Prospects Live for some serious draft chat. They discuss what Tyler feels is the strength of the draft and who you can expect to end up in the top 10 at this point. As White Sox fans, we are all pretty much disgusted that the Guardians ended up with the first pick in the draft, but Ian and James asked Tyler where he thought their strategy would take them with the first overall pick.

Once they got past the names everybody knows and expects to be called in the top 10, Tyler was asked who his favorite guys outside of the top 10 are. He had some interesting answers and probably a few you either don't know or don't expect.

Of course the most important question the FutureSox Podcast has for Tyler is who he thinks the White Sox will go with at number 5, and who will be available.

Ian Eskridge and James Fox of FutureSox took some time with White Sox 2023 13th round selection Ryan Galanie. He goes into his storied high school and talks about the insane alumni from Moeller High School, including Ken Griffey Jr and Barry Larkin among many others. Galanie also went into detail about his college career with the Wofford Terriers, and his eventual draft day.

Ryan was asked to tell Ian and James what is making Kannapolis the place to be in the Carolina league in 2024, what the differences are to last year, and what he is focusing on this year and for the future.

Galanie is slashing an insane .352/.436/.592 in 2024, and has been putting on a show. The masses need to take a look and see what he is doing with the Cannon Ballers.

(49:23): Elijah and Jeff welcome on Kannapolis Cannon Ballers Manager Pat Leyland to talk all about the White Sox Single-A affiliate. They start by talking about Pat's career journey and his dad, Jim Leyland, being elected to the Hall of the Fame. Then, they talk almost every prospect on the Cannon Ballers roster and get exclusive information on each player and the upside they possess.

Adler has a 1.17 ERA with 24 strikeouts across 15.1 innings pitched this season between High-A and Double-A. He is well-regarded as one of the top relief pitchers in the farm system.

Andrew Vaughn started to seem to figure it out, but then regressed. Corey Julks came and gave a little spark while Tommy Pham keeps it real. Garrett Crochet is still awesome.

Ian Eskridge and James Fox broke down Charlotte's first full week and the other three's first weekend series on this episode of the FutureSox Podcast.
